Pretty good news, let's hope they feel like they got their money's worth.
For those who really wanted it, it's still available on most other online stores at a cheaper price than what RightStuf charged. Not including shipping, of course. |

I just imported this when it was released in japan and it only cost around 48 dollars which is the same price Right Stuff is selling it for.
I'm not sure why people just aren't importing it because i'm pretty certain that the english version has NO changes to the booklet. Every vocal song already has the vocal song lyrics in english as well as the composer credits in the japanese version so there is literally no real difference between the two besides Rightstuff providing an english tracklist (which STILL looks like mumbo jumbo but that's just because Sawano always names his music weird for some reason). |

Getting that Matoi Ryuuko's stand-alone figure. Already purchased both BDs Vol. 1 and 2 and will purchase all their First Press BD releases. I'm also going to purchase this OST, completely forgot about it. I'll bundle it together with Vol. 3 for this month.
Thanks for the heads up. Forgot to mention. I also have a one hour loop of Before My Body in Dry, no rap edition in PCM format @ 1411 bitrate. Love this song. |

If this had been avaliable on US Itunes store, it could've topped the US Itune Soundtrack chart (and maybe make it on Itune top 200 chart) but apparently Japanese music label don't play it fair according to Answerman.

I did the same. It was less than 41 dollars to just buy it from Japan. I'm sure they all have their own various reasons for not importing it. But for those that may think they can't or won't be able to get it, all you're reading and seeing here is that it's "sold out". Which is true. For Region 1. But having just checked, and as others have noted, it's still available elsewhere. |

I picked up mine the first time I heard about it. It was sold out through TRSI, so I went and ordered it somewhere else. I pretty much accepted that I may not get the 1st pressing. I was surprised that I managed to score one when it arrived. AoT and KLK were two great soundtracks that graced my stereo system this year. Cool thing is that I didn't realize it was composed by the same guy.
It seems the 2 most popular tracks, are 'Till my body is Dry' and of course 'Blumenkranz'. |

I figured it wasn't available on iTunes simply because Aniplex wanted to make more money. They couldn't have charged an import price on iTunes, so if it was on there people would've just bought it there instead of buying the physical release. |

Yeah, this could've sold more on Itune store in the US, and could've charted high on the Soundtrack chart if Aniplex had put it on Itune. As I said, Japan's music industry doesn't play fair. I really hate it when Japan doesn't embrace this tech when other Asian countries (Taiwan, and South Korea) take Itunes and digital music market seriously. |

You know, if you do choose to buy the OST you'd be supporting Aniplex in Japan. You already have with those two BD purchases. A full on import boycott of them will be difficult because they publish a ton of things. |

Right, its just interesting that for once it isn't entirely Aniplex's fault. Due to the all together different nature of Japan's music industry, I guess its amazing any physical copies were available through US retailers at all. |

Eh, Itunes quality is crap anyway so youre not missing out by not having it on there. Like any OST, there's really only a handful of songs I enjoy on this. There's some really awesome ones...but only a few. I actually enjoyed Beyond the Melodies CD far more.

It appears you are ranting again about Japan when you don't know the full details. Aniplex of America hasn't had the best track record of CDs selling out on RightStuf, and given this was their first separate OST release (OST releases outside of videogram packaging are rare for Aniplex of Japan as an incentive to buy the discs, thus limited window for AoA), they lowballed how many they would import and thus sold out quickly. They're not a stranger for putting songs on itunes/Amazon. The Valvrave OP and Daybreak Illusion OP were put up on both due to feeling they would sell better there than on CD. AoA felt it wasn't worth the cost to lose money and put this OST up on itunes/Amazon for cheaper and lose money if it didn't sell well, thus CD-only. It's done fantastic for them and was well worth the risk. |

Yeah I know in Japan, CDs are ridiculously expensive I mean they cost 40-60 dollars (*facepalm*)!!! It's no wonder why Japan's music market is #2 (or #1 depend on people's intrepretation and views), price fixing and they don't play fair. It doesn't help Japan passed a draconian law on downloading which kinda scare many people to download music from Itunes, this led to a negative impact on local sales in Japan. That's one of the many criticism I have on Japan.
As I said, Japan's music industry is not fair. I know Aniplex America doesn't have the best record when it comes to putting out CDs. I still think using Itunes and Amazon MP3 even Spotify could help the Kill la Kill soundtrack. If this soundtrack had been on Itunes already, it would top the Soundtrack chart given this CD sold out, I think it could've top the chart on Itunes, maybe even make it on Itunes top 200 Albums chart if it had been on Itunes. It could've been a nice achievement for anime and anime OST if this soundtrack was on Itunes and ANN could've reported on it, I can see the ANN headline for the article: Kill la Kill Soundtrack topped the US Itunes Soundtrack chart. It's rare for Japanese music to chart on Itunes, like Kyary did this twice and Supercell did this. I wish Aniplex of USA embrace the digital market more, sometime a anime OST could sell out like crazy on Itunes and Amazon. |
