Hopefully a US release will also come out someday. Come on Viz. Subs finally would be nice too...but at least this dub was good.

Viz Media does not have licensing, The Pokemon Company does.

actually its PUSA that have it for the US ,not its japaneese counterpart. and its viz's sister company, Viz Kids ( which unfortunately dont have a good rep when it comes to dubs considering some of their licenses wasnt that good. sure its not 4kids awful , but bad nevertheless.) have the distribution license to release the DVDs. if Viz Media really had the license, you better believe they would have released a better english dub version and of course release a sub version with the original script and the original OP and ED.

However if anyone wanted to watch the dub version you can always go to their official pokemon website since its still up there. its kinda interesting cause of the casting choice.instead of the cast that was used in the TV series, they used a whole new cast, and the bigger surprise to me that is that they found a way to have JYB to voice as takashi. definitely something i didn't expected considering with all of these non-union/union rules and such.

Viz just distributes, I believe (technically Warner Bros., but its Viz that actually does the packaging and stuff I think). But yeah, the cast was pretty interesting. It seems like a Bang Zoom dub, with JYB, Bryce Peppenbrook, Christine Marie Cabanos, etc. I just want someone to release it over here in the US on dvd. Hell blu ray would be awesome, seeing as it got one in Japan, but seeing as how none of the Pokemon movie's Viz put out are blu ray, I'm not holding my breath.

Although I didn't know they were still streaming the dub. I check the website but I can't find it.

Viz Kids IS Viz Media. It's just a sub-label. In any case, The Pokemon Company International, Nintendo, and (presumably) Bang Zoom were the ones behind Pokemon Origins' dub (they're the usual team behind Pokemon's current English dub, just replace Bang Zoom with DuArt Film and Video).

Viz has released many Pokemon DVDs under their regular label, and to this date, with no Japanese-language option.

Also, I'm pretty sure JYB has financial-core-status, meaning he can work union and non-union under his real name, but without the benefits.

Hopefully the DVDs would have real credits. As it stands, we're just going on what was guessed and what voice actors have confirmed.

Ya think? though they never said that they used Bang Zoom Entertainment for those OVA's.

But yea, the whole casting are indeed Bang Zoom VAs.

Though i really doubt it. and even if its true, there is no way PUSA is gonna admit it in public cause then a crapload of the otaku community would want to demand they start using studios like BZ instead of the mediocre version that is on the TV series.

But what i really hope that if its actually true, it will mean an official sub version as well.

Impossible. If i am not mistaken , arent PUSA using their own VA and former 4kids VA (excluding Satoshi's original VA) for the current english dub ( Best Wishes & XY )? they never said anything about BZ's team behind the current dub. unless it for the upcoming movie which i can buy.

and that there is the problem. Though i am mainly a die hard dub pursuit, seeing the series using the original script and with and official sub is something most people would like to see. and unless PUSA get with the program , their series since season 1 will become a personal breeding ground for fansubbers just like with the yugioh franchise.

Well that would make sense. it definitely would explain how was it he got voiced for some series. The trigun movie and Eureka 7: AO i can get , but Bakurestu Tenshi (Burst Angel) & that kiddy show Tenkai Knights ( which is usually Nelvana's MO ) definitely didn't add up.

As for the name change, its kinda obvious.sure there are those union/non union rules on that, but some VA do name changes for certain series that are very ecchi in nature (Tengo Tenge,Queens Blade). Dont know why they dont want their name mentioned in series like them cause die hard otakus will recognize their voice instantly so its not their gonna fool anyone. I guess no one will know.

this is PUSA and Nintendo we're talking about here. its very highly unlikely.
