I have never ever seen the original but this looks and sounds pretty good. Hopefully the edits they make are only necessary ones.

I hope it inspires a new generation of children. It's quite marketable.

This should be interesting! I know a lot of anime and manga make references to Doraemon, but I've never really experienced the series before. I'd like to check it out though so I can appreciate how it as affected anime at large.

The dub doesn't sound too bad, it's a shame they changed a bit though...But hey you have to do what you have to do to make it appeal to kids. Although they probably would have been fine...

Oh, and for those of you who don't know (I mentioned this in an earlier thread), Mona Marshall, who is perhaps best-known for playing Izzi in the English versions of Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, is playing Doraemon.

Wow! This is exactly how I expected it to sound like! I thought it was going to be a horrible dub but this is a pretty decent dub! (for now) What a great way to get kids into anime! (And if they get interested in the aspect of traveling through time and space they might grow to like Doctor Who!) What time to be alive! A win win situation! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I know I've been vocal about my disdain of the English version of Doraemon being Americanized to cater to American sensibilities, but I am going to give it a try, since I found the voice acting to be impressive. Besides, I may grow to like it as I go further into it.

I was expecting alot worse...like I mean A LOT worse. This sounds decent enough for what it is and I'll give it a try for the heck of it.

Doraemon sounds good. Kind of similar to the Japanese Doraemon voice that i remember, but i haven't watch it for more than 10 years.

This sold me on the show. I so rarely hear Mona Marshall in anything anymore and I just love her voice. Nice to hear that Terriermon and Takato will reunite every so often, at least!

Because turning a first aid kit into a pizza (and yen into dollars) is sooo essential in order to appeal to kids, even though it's already a kids show........

The apologies that are being make for the cuts are beyond ridiculous.
