I'm not surpised by this news but I'm still glad its confirmed. In Japan I'm prediciting it will appear around like December 20 something 2004(for the premire date) and maybe be on DVD's in Japan by maybe August 2005. I look forward to it.

Before the end of the year, you mean. It's a 2004 release.

Has it taken eight months for previous Inu Yasha movies to be released on DVD in Japan?

I would like to squash something here and now:

If Inu ended its run on TV (allegedly Sept 2004), why make a film? Explain that one to me, if you dare!

It makes no sense to spend that much money on making and advertising a film for a show that is no longer around. For you Americans, look at Star Trek. They tried to run with movies but fell flat on their faces. If it wasn't for Roddenberry, the series would be dead.

The movie is rumored to have a tag line from Inuyasha himself 'now we finish this' or something like that. The movie may end the series.

I can't remember when Mr. Roddenberry died, but I think it was before the end of TNG. I love First Contact and Voyager is an excellent series also. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Enterprise.

As far as Inu Yasha goes, I wouldn't mind it ending in a movie, just so long as the movie stays close to the manga or creates a good enough story for fans to actually like.

Hmmm, as I recall Urusei Yatsura 5 and 6 ran after the end of the TV and manga, in fact, Maison Ikkoku's movie ran along side UY Movie 5. Then there's Ranma 1/2 Movie 3 (It can be found on OVA #5.) So, no, even after the TV and Manga series is done, the movies and OVA are still possable.
