A few pics of Fukuyama Masaharu as Kenshin's mentor Seijuro Hiko have also finally been put online, confirming what had been teased seemingly forever.
I'm so excited for these movies, even if it's still gonna be quite the wait before I get to see them (through legit means or otherwise). |

No sign of the spoiler[Spawn cloak] yet, though. Maybe they decided that would be silly in live action? The first poster (spoiler on the link) released for film #3 also seem to hint that spoiler[Kenshin's trianing has been moved to that film.] There are also some less spoiler-y (assuming you're familiar with the anime and manga) posters released for The Legend Ends. (In spite of the silly name and their occasional posting of mediocre fanart, I do recommend that tumblr as a way to keep up on news about the films.) |

Saw it last night. I won't spoil anything, but I will say I was pretty happy with it, and am very much looking forward to the finale. I'm also glad I didn't see the linked trailer beforehand, because I didn't know how far into the story this would go, and as a result it felt like the film just kept giving and giving.
My biggest concern going in was this: while the first film really exceeded my expectations, it was based on the weaker portion of the manga, where plenty of room for improvement existed. In this case, however, they're dealing with what's considered "the good stuff" -- stuff which also starts getting much more over-the-top. So far, my fears are for the most part allayed. Otomo and his writers seem to have good instincts for the limitations that live-action can put on the willing suspension of disbelief, and continue to balance that with a very clear love of the characters and original story. Hopefully they can keep up the tightrope-act all the way through to the end. |

No spoilers please, just three questions: 1) About how long is the movie? 2 hours like the first one, or longer? 2) Where did you see it? In Japan, or elsewhere? 3) How full was the theater you were at? |

1) I went to a 6:25 showing, and it was almost 9:00 when I got out. Trailers probably took up some of that time, so I'd say about two hours and twenty minutes. 2) Japan. 3) Pretty full, with mostly young people. |

Awesome. I really want these to do well - finally seeing the Jinchu arc adapted in full is a dream of mine.
