Ya I was worried when reading the abilities on Bulbapedia they sounded like their normal abilities so I was worried. Now seeing them here they can't be stopped and Groudon stops water attacks and Kyogre stops Fire attacks. I am guessing they also power up their relative type's moves as well.

The three new megas are nice as well with Mega-Sharpedo being my favorite design wise. Mega-Gallade while his design looks cool I don't like the coloring they went with. Too much white add some accents to it or something to break up all that white.

Mega Sharpedo? You mean... LABOOOOOOON...!?

And Primal form abilities. Back in 3rd gen, their abilities were ridiculously one-sided, with Kyogre benefiting from its ability while Groudon is Ground type, so he couldn't even properly use his ability to the extent of Kyogre. Now gen6 and the new abilities completely reverse that. They get perma-weather back, but now Groudon is Fire and Ground. People assumed that would make it weak against water and make the dynamic worse, but now it's IMMUNE to water! Meaning it has even LESS to worry about. Poor Kyogre doesn't get much out of the change. Its attacks are still boosted, but now it's immune to fire... and who the heck uses a fire attack against a Kyogre?

To be fair, no one will try to use Water attacks against Groudon (not that it was ever a that good of an idea since the sun lessens water damage to the point where can handle em.

Fire/Ground is a really good typing offensively, and now defensively too alongside Desolate Land.

With Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon's Mega Abilities allowing them massive power increases and immunity to Fire and Water-type attacks, respectively, many Trainers will find themselves in a very precarious situation battling them, since Primordial Sea and Desolate Land are immune from being changed unless Primal Kyogre/Primal Groudon are switched out or [presumably] Rayquaza's Air Lock or a Pokemon with the Ability Cloud Nine is summoned into battle.

Admittedly no one would use a Fire-type attack against Kyogre even in the third generation, so making it immune to Fire attacks wouldn't serve it much in single battles (other than boosting its Water-type attacks) however it would be invaluable in double, triple or rotation battles where it could protect teammates that are weak to Fire-type attacks. Where Groudon has an edge is that its ability makes it useful in all battle formats. Regardless, Kyogre and Groudon are likely to remain prohibited in all but unrestricted competitions for obvious reasons. You won't be seeing them in Official Tournaments any time soon.
