PS3 and Vita games are by default region-free. (albeit there IS an option for publishers to restrict a game, that option is rarely used...)

So if this receives a physical release, does it really matter if it's meant for Asia? You'd still be able to play it.

For a download-only release and possible dlcs it would be a bit more problematic as you'd need to tie the account on your console to that region.

I believe Infinity Moment is supposed to be part of Hollow Fragment.

Just to note about the bottom of the article: Vol. 576 of Dengeki PlayStation has come and gone, while an interview with Kawahara Reki and Futami Yosuke (which may or may not have originally been included in that volume) has been posted online, along with some screenshots from the game.

I remember the hubbub when the North American release of Persona 4 Arena was region-locked on PS3. That didn't go down well...

DLC aside, part of it is the wish to show support for the game's release in one's hoem territory. If everyone who doanloaded Hollow Freagment in North America and Europe had imported the Asian English version of the game instead, it would have made it much harder to convince Bandai Namco to release Lost Song (or other "niche" anime titles) domestically.

Effectively, the content from Infinity Moment was integrated into the new campaign in Hollow Fragment. (The Aincrad portion of HF is essentially from IM, while the Hollow Area is new to the Vita game.)

From what I gather, HF might introduce some of the Aincrad characters (or rather, the ones who weren't originally in the canon Aincrad arc, such as Leafa and Sinon) a bit earlier than in IM,

So they've basically just given up completely on trying to sell the Vita with exclusives? Brilliant. Honestly with garbage like Killzone Mercenary and other poor man's versions of PS3 games that weren't all that good in the first place it's no surprise why the only people who buy the console are people like me who want the niche Japanese games like Persona 4 and Danganronpa. But I'm really baffled as to how Sony screwed up so bad at marketing such a great console to western audiences.

Even though I do have a fully functioning PS3 (Which I'm trying to get as much use out of possible in spite of the fact that I'll be getting an XBONE pretty soon) I'm probably getting this on Vita.

Also if Namco Bandai or whoever picks it up for a release here in Australia wants to widen the appeal more I think it would be really cool of them to do an English dub. If that's not possible I'd at least be satisfied with a physical release. Paying $60 for a game and not even getting a physical copy just feels weird to me.

When did Bamco ever say they were dedicated to putting exclusives on the Vita to promote the system? That is Sony's job and unless they're paying for exclusivity, 3rd parties likely don't give a crap. You just see stuff like this on the Vita because it is a lot cheaper to develop for. Like the guy said though, if they want to sell it in the west, they're going to have to do a ps3 upscale because the psp and Vita never really stuck here... which is sad because thats why we're never getting Valkyria Chronicles 3.

I'm just hoping that if this comes west, either this translation is good enough to use or it gets a new translation. Although after Hollow Fragment, I'm not really expecting either of those things to happen.

Hollow Fragment literally had no budget, since Hollow Fragment did well I'd expect a budget for this title.
