Why couldn't this have been invented when I was a kid. In America. It's taken me my whole life to figure it all out.

This kit sounds like it would be incredibly beneficial for all those inexperienced, non Japanese artists who try drawing in a "manga" style. To bad the part about having an expert critique your work would be inaccessible.

A lot of stuff was coming out when I was younger, but it was expensive (rightfully so, but still, inaccessible) and it was, for some reason, more of a priority for most kids to tract and copy from the books than actually read them and understand them. Here, the book and tools seem to promote tracing only so far as giving you the basis for using screentone and such. Actual ability to illustrate in the style is pretty personal.

As someone with experience in making a complete work, it's a ton of work and takes years of general learning just to understand the concepts of making a manga beyond drawing characters interacting. And making a proper story flow with manga as the medium. So frustrating, and I did less than a weekly piece's typical work in the span of a month and a half... ugh... but I'll keep chugging along because that's how I get better!
