Getting rid of the censors really improved the show.

Guess we either watch fansubs, or wait for the blurays. It no fun watching a show that feels the need to censor everything. Especially an action show.

It's still better than Word Trigger, where the viewer has to endure long durations of still frames and off model faces. Even the acting is subpar.

Terra Formars has some weird direction going on with the pacing and exposition from two different narrators. The are times when an episode like time glitch where it is jumping from one event to the next, and it's hard to tell what exactly is going on. The black bars are annoying at times too. Episode 4 was a lot better for the lack of censorship and some decent action.

As far as the Terraformars design goes, the most kind excuse is that the mangaka did very shallow research when developing the characters. A lot of the other characters from other countries are stereotypes, like Sheila. I guess that he didn't feel like making the effort since most of the characters die anyway.

Yeah, Terraformars could be seen as a bit insensitive, but then again, a lot of things in anime could be seen as insensitive.

That said, holy censorship batman. Those first 3 episodes were damn painful to watch with all of them.

I like violent fun like Die Hard (1-3), Lethal Weapon, and Rambo, but I don't like stupid such as Die Hard 4 and 5 and The Expendables. I just hope this doesn't fall under the latter.

I'm in the same boat, with really wanting to like the anime, but it's just not making it easy.

The censorship was bad but ultimately will be a non-issue with the uncensored version coming out. My big problem with it, is the pace at which they decided to go about things. Every time an action scene is about to happen, you get about 2 minutes of exposition. I would rather them do all of that at the beginning or end and not broken up in between. Surprisingly they do make you feel something, even if it's just a little, about some of the characters before certain things happen.

Tired of the is it racist, is it not racist, discussion already. It's a humanoid roach, the color of roaches. Same thing they do with lizard men etc. As much as people like to say "Oh it's not racist", there are just as many people, if not more, knee jerkers that call ANYTHING racist. I'm honestly surprised that some people enjoy or have fun with anything nowadays since people get offended over everything. Plus they go out of their way to say how intelligent these beings are and are in fact superior to humanity in many ways.

But, back on topic, the show itself is floundering. It has gotten better but the pacing issues need to be resolved. I don't have much hope unless it ends up being 24-26 episodes but it's looking like 13. Well, I'll still watch it but the manga will be priority.

This show might work better as a comedy. As an action show, it is dreadful. I Also agree with the fact that the bug designs are stupid and at best offensive. Where is the imagination? Why not make them scary by making them more bug-like? The Aliens series of movies would have been just as much of a joke if the Aliens looked like a bunch of primitive black dudes with ripped prison bodies who just broke out of jail. I could tell from the OVA how bad this show was going to be. Pacing problems were there, the art wasn't inspiring at all - it was just a lot of grays and browns with overly simplistic character designs, and the dialogue was not even as good as B movie type stuff. Even a C+ is a generous grade in my opinion.

Not quite, it seems. Still only a "C+". Otherwise it would be a "D".

I think it was pretty obvious it was my opinion.
