This is a news piece that I have pointed out long ago in my webzine >seen_here<. In addition to there being a Trigun hardcover, there will also be one for Akira. There was supposedly going to be a hardcover for Oh My Goddess as well, but I couldn't get any specific information.

Why don't you just read the news article? The answer is there.

Anyways, no, it's not a book, it's a hardcover version of the manga.

I'm certain they are still books, but nobody calls manga "books" Shocked Except these are trade cloth (hardcover or hardback), not paperback, as it usually always is here in the U.S.

Tempest, you might want to add an extra article concerning Akira in hardcover too. See my link above, and here is a direct link to the product.

The Akira "books" are beasts! They're so thick but i guess its more bang for your buck but its still almost text book size
