Wow, thanks for the list. I have nothing else to add but I hope this thread doesn't get derailed like the last time.

Glad Matranga's getting more work; I loved him as Sanzo in Saiyuki and find that he's a criminally underutilized actor.

I'm a pretty big fan of English dubs, but there are some guys on here that I've never even heard of. It's starting to feel like this list is more of a list of favorites for the author more than a genuine "Most in Demand" list. Because actors like Todd Haberkorn, Johnny Yong Bosch, Josh Grelle, Micha Solisud, and so on would be on here instead.

At least David Wald, Patrick, and Greg are on there.

She's literally just counting the number of roles they had in 2014. There is no other metric being used.

Thanks for the clarification Zac.

Sentai dubs far more anime than any other company right now. However the titles they do dub aren't exactly getting as much attention as Attack on Titan, Sailor Moon, DBZ: BoG, or Psycho Pass. The biggest titles they've dubbed this year are probably Log Horizon, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya.

Espurr only got seventh place in the poll? I don't think he'll ever recover from this defeat. He still has trouble getting over what he saw in Vietnam.

Actually, Sentai doesn't dub very much at all. But wait until No Game No Life comes out with a dub. They'll be getting attention then.

This list emphasizes the fact that I have not watched any new anime for quite a while.
Greg Ayers is the only one that I am familiar with.
I recognize the name of Patric Seitz, but I could not think of any of his roles.
I drew a total blank on all of the others.
And I am a dub lover. Embarassed

The new poll reminds me that I have not watched much Pokemon, because I do not recognize any of them.
I voted for Meowth in the previous poll. I have at least watched the first season and a few of the early movies.

I'm not questioning the results of "The List" at all, but it's funny how a lot of the actors that I guessed would be on there, were not. Greg Ayres is the only one I got right. Now I feel old... no make that old school. Cool

I think that since Vic Mignogna was the 1st ADV VA to work on a Funi title, if it weren't for that (and any other reasons), we might not have had as many ADV/Sentai VA working on Funi titles.

If people would read why Lynzee writes, it wouldn't have needed a clarification. She clearly explained it right up there at the top, just like last time.

I'm happy but surprised to see David Matranga at the top. Last I'd heard (some years ago) he shipped off to NYC and occasionally flew in for a role. If he's getting that much work now, did he move back to Texas, or are they still paying to fly him in all the time?

Blake Shepard was also a surprise, but only because I'm not paying attention. I mostly associate him with older stuff like Tactics, but it doesn't help that for no reason I keep confusing him with J. Shannon Weaver (they hardly sound alike). Confused

I've never seen a picture of Clint Bickham before, but he reminds me of the late Maddie Blaustein (Meowth, in keeping with the Pokemon polls), who I've loved since her work as Migeira in Samurai Deeper Kyo. Smile

@infamoustakai and mdo7

As quoted directly from Lynzee herself at the top of The List page:
Quote:
This week we're counting down the most in demand voice actors in English dubs for the year. I sat down with ANN's Encyclopedia, went through every new North American release that included English dubs, and tallied the roles to get a comprehensive list of who starred in what, and overall which actors got the most major roles this year. If you need a refresher, we listed actresses last week, so head over there if you haven't checked it out yet.

EDIT: Ninja'd!
