Toriko for me feels like what might have happened if JoJo's Bizarre adventure never introduced stands. You have gigantic muscle men going on weird adventures, being complete dorks in their machismo. That is the definition of what JoJo is, but JoJo is also about horror and gruesome death. With Toriko, no injury is totally fatal, and the main cast has plot armor. Toriko isn't bad at all, but I can't help but make this comparison.

Oh I love Toriko. It's too manly and awesome to overlook.
I only have 1 complaint for the series which is that the animation in late episodes (100+) gets pretty bad at times. I know it's because the second movie bombed, but damn.

Anyway, I'd recommend Toriko to anyone who just wants some straight-out fun and entertainment.

I got the first DVD collection back in August but I haven't been able to get the second collection yet because there's so many anime releases that I want to purchase lately.

Anyone know why they're dragging so hard on getting these dubbed episodes streamed? They put the first four episodes up so long ago they're only on Hulu, not the FUNi streaming player. They've released up to episode 50 dubbed so what's taking so long getting them online? I guess they're not willing to give it the One Piece treatment and keep streaming the dub in bulk.

Komatsu sounds feminine because he apparently has serious hormonal disorder. Thus he is not sexually mature even in his mid-twenties (I thought initially that Komatsu was a child prodigy, but he is not); he lacks height, too, so there is also issue with growth hormone.

It could be result of a tumour, developed in his childhood, or severe genetic mutation. Author does not disclose which of the two probable illnesses has caused Komatsu's condition. Hence we can not guess his life expectancy.

i wouldnt say that. there are some female characters that arent useless at all. also the anime at times is faithful to the manga to the tea. if it had went the same rout as soul eater, this anime would have ended a long time ago.
