Interesting topic. Guess I'll drop Shingeki no Bahamut dance scene here:

As well as Sakura Taisen movie OP, although I'm not sure if that counts as a dance

As for the dance from Haruhi, that is, without a doubt, my favorite version of it:

I'm not surprised that Haruhi made #1. Whenever I think of anime dances I think of that.

Haruhi is also 1 of those series that popularize LN-based anime series and the moe boom.

I was like "LUCKY STAR BETTER BE ON HERE!!" lol

I don't know how many have seen MM! but the two main heroines do a fantastic dance worth mentioning for the ED. :3 Check it out if you like fast music with fast moves.

It's kind of old-school, but one of my favorite anime dances has to be the opening to Hana Yori Dango. The fact that it has better animation than the entire rest of the series is kind of funny, too. (Or it was when I first saw it... Laughing )

Hare Hare Yukai and Sailor Fuku...
The bright nature of them was what made them the most memorable opening songs that I've heard. Those dance moves were really out of this world!

Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the only mecha series, to my knowledge, where the robots get a dance episode

Didn't Mao get in trouble for programming the mechs to dance with each other in Full Metal Panic? Forget which season, but she got her pay docked by Tessa for the damage she caused. One of the mechs had to wear a skirt.

Update: Found a video.

I can't believe the Anglerfish Dance from Girls und Panzer didn't make the list! It made a cameo in the series but that 2-minute OVA definitely deserves an honorable mention Laughing

This indeed. I really wish KyoAni would've finished those two shows.

I know it was far from the best show ever made (I never made it beyond the first few episodes) but, given that it was actually about a school dance club, I wondered whether some of the sequences from Hanayamata might have been granted a mention - even if the OP paid a considerable amount of homage to Lucky Star.!
