Too bad Kodansha USA can't have its own magazine like Viz with WSJ and Yen+.

I think that's a smart move, it'll allow them to reach more people at lower costs

Kodansha already publishes a lot of stuff digitally through Crunchyroll manga though. The problem is Kodansha in the US, like Viz and other JP subsidiaries are risk-averse. Kodansha JP is going to digitally simulpub Young Magazine, which includes Prison School. Kodansha USA's tumblr specifically stated they would not publish Prison School, and they even doubted anyone else would too, until they were proven wrong by Yen Press.

Yes, though with different content than the US WSJ. Actually there are different forms. One is Jump+ with slight motion comic enhancements like animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2014-10-02/shonen-jump-offers-online-manga-and-secret-jiggling-body-parts/.79486

Yep! They created the Jump+ platform, where you can read a lot of free titles, buy digital format of Weekly Shonen Jump and digital volumes of titles from any Jump magazine.

They right now have 50 free titles. 38 are totally new series while the rest are for advertisement purposes(For Example: One Piece as a random chapter pop-up approximately every month).

Awesome! Just hope they don't charge for digital issues. I love Comic Avarus' change to digital. Free chapters every month.

If they had deal with Crunchyroll to simulpub some of these titles, I'd like it if they could get all the Pastel manga ch. as that's one of my all-time fave manga.

Its so nice to see Kodansha's smart move of bringing its print magazines to digital. Would suggest you to be part of some popular Digital Magazine/Book store which can break all geographical barriers and reach out content to a global arena. I recently gazed through an interesting app named Magzter. They are a leading Global Digital Magazine/Book store which had a collection of more than 4500 magazines and 25000 books. They do lot of event based promotions which is so exciting and irresistable. they have a 24 million user base that might be the right audience to tap for all ur marketing needs.

Back in mid-July, I sent a PM to the Crunchyroll Manga Brand Manager about Pastel being added to their catalog and she forwarded the message to her Japanese team.
