Glad to see DMP has decided to take a more sensible approach. I'd like to see 'em try The Three-Eyed One and whatnot again after Alabaster, but I understand they'd probably want to wait a little while after what happened.

Already added my support. More Tezuka is always good in my book. Can't wait to see how this manages to do.

Speaking of funding Tezuka stuff, don't forget that Dororo at Anime Sols is still short by $2,000. Also, you might at least be able to get the first third of The Amazing Three funded, if you're willing to spring for the remaining $1,400.

I can't believe they're starting yet another Kickstarter when the most current one isn't even done yet (and at its current rate will not likely meet its goal). It seems like a very rash decision on their part, as it will divide their attention two ways instead of focusing on each campaign one at a time.

Brainchild: The yaoi audience is probably mostly different from the Tezuka audience.

This sounds interesting. It has a really nice western novel vibe.

@Brainchild

They still have the same crazy deadline to release the whole catalog by in their heads if you ask me.

Fantastic. Hope more people turn to kickstarter to print manga previously unreleased to the western audience. There is a huge market for this if done right.

I'm not talking about the audience for both Kickstarters, I mean the staff at DMP in charge of said Kickstarters. They've struggled enough recently just keeping the hype going for their current campaigns after the initial announcement. Dividing their attention between two campaigns will only add more strain on a team that's not exactly put their best foot forward in this last year or so.

They did have job ads that they were looking for a Kickstarter specialist. So, I am guessing they have hired help to do this stuff.

I was wondering if Finder was going if a new Tezuka would pop up this month. But, the Finder team appears to be at least a little different. One of the ladies said she wasn't involved in the Tezuka kickstarter that failed. I find it hilarious how much more enthusiasm there seems for promotion with the Finder project too. I've been spammed like crazy over it and have less than any interest whereas, the last Tezuka campaign was pretty quiet.

Anyway, positive side DMP is doing nicer paper for this which was one of the big requests. I don't know if I want Alabaster though. I like some of Tezuka's darker stuff but, this one sounds iffy for some reason. The stretch goal for a second reprint of Swallowing Earth is not something I want at all so at least I'm not worried there.

Good to see new titles coming out. At least they can get the releases out. I wonder what happened to Kansai Publishing Group. They still haven't released 'The Crater'. Those bums.

The comments section is still going strong! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kansaiclub/limited-edition-translation-of-osamu-tezukas-the-c/comments It's pretty jokes, people trying to get others to pester the guy's mum and others trying to file law suits and get the local TV news to cover it. Apparently one backer has emailed here to get ANN to do a report on it but ANN weren't interested. I think it's safe to say, if you backed it, the dude's done a runner with your money and you're not going to see anything back from it.

jimpac: I've 'tweeted' with one of the Tezuka Prop people, and complained about this, and how they should do something, because it's basically hurting their rep, too. But they seem to avoid wanting to confront it.

Just bumping this with an update and 3 days left.

There are new tiers with different rewards including a "Tezuka Bundle DIGITAL" with lots of complete manga if you're not interested in physical goodies or trinkets.
