Those first 3 scenes (Robin, Merry, and Nami) still make me tear up everytime I rewatch them. Which I do relatively often since both Robin's and Nami's scenes are some of my favorites in the entire series. I'd say though that as far as tear jerkers go for Robin, there might be a better one an episode or two back during her backstory. Specifically when Robin finally meets her mother again and just sits down holding hands with her.

There's a reason One Piece destroyed all other shonen competitors.

To date, I can't think of any other scene or event that caused me to cry as hard than that of the Strawhat Crew bidding final farewell to the Going Merry. When I rewatch the Enies Lobby arc, that scene is just as powerful as it was the first time I watched it. That is an example of how strong a scene can be when all the moving parts (voice acting, art style, dialogue, context of the events) click and fit into a single moment.

Go, go Mini Merry II! Carry on through the seas just like predecessor.

It's a good list, and it really calls out that we haven't had the Straw Hat crew REALLY challenged emotionally since the new world.

Swap out the separation of the straw hats for the episode where chopper leaves drum island and sees the cherry blossoms, and then you have the most emotional scenes in all of one piece.

I think FUNi translated it as booze, or was it brew? Honestly I don't think it really makes much of a difference.

So I think 4 out of those 7 really made me tear up or down right cry:
Merry's death, Ace's death (the flashbacks didn't help D:<), Luffy vs Ussop, and Bink's Sake.

I've teared up with several anime (Clannad AS being the real doozer) but One Piece hasn't done anything for me emotionally. I suppose I just can't take Shonen shows seriously enough to get connected that way.

When Nami stabs herself, and the scratches at the earth, screaming for Luffy to leave - very good acting. My hair was one end. "Jesus". It was a very sharp scene for a goofy show. Coupled with the walk to Arlong Park, I was permanently hooked.

Arlong Park was just simply way above everything that preceded it. Be it Nami's cry for help, her 'stabbing' Usopp, or the backstory with Bellmere, it all ended up clicking so well. I was on the fence with One Piece up to Baratie but after Arlong Park I couldn't stop watching.

I agree. I think that arc was the first time where I realized, "Wow, this show can be as goofy as hell, but it can also just rip your heart right out of your chest."

And I second Chopper being a much-needed addition, though I'd swap the cherry blossoms scene for his backstory. Dr. Hiriluk. Crying or Very sad

The Arlong Arc was pretty much what made me love One Piece from there on out.

"THAT'S FOR MAKING OUR NAVIGATOR CRY!"

That's all Luffy needed to go kick Arlong's ass.

True awesomeness.

There really should be more than 7. I can't NOT include the departure tearful scenes of Chopper at Drum or Vivi at Alabasta.

Even though it hasn't aired in the anime yet, the recent story with Law and Corazon is high on my list of emotional moments.

Isn't it Binks' and not Bink's? Like...the name is Binks, not Bink. It ends with an S [like Boris or Charles], and not a K? Eeegh I honestly don't know myself, the name is so confusing. Anime hyper
Anyways, some of my favorite tear jerking moments are...
1. A lot of the Drum Island arc.
2. Sanji leaving the Baratie. How he almost leaves without a big farewell, and just breaks into tears when Zeff says "Careful out there, don't catch a cold."
3. Luffy explains to Nami why he is fighting Eneru and the ringing of the Golden Bell. If he doesn't ring the Golden Bell in the sky, Cricket, who thought the City of Gold sank to the bottom of the ocean will keep swimming and searching there for the rest of his life.
There's so much more I'd love to list, but that'll do. Anime hyper
