An interesting fact is that Gackt comes from Ryukyuan ancestry. This is another minority group in Japan like the Ainu. This would be comparable to a person of Native American ancestry getting fame in the anime/manga industry.

Not exactly... Other people have elaborated on the race relations thing, better than I could, elsewhere. Also, there's a third version of the sheets where he doesn't have a shirt and his belt is undone. It's random draw which one you get. (He's also releasing a ginormous box set for his 15th anniversary).

Oh dear god another bedroom cuddle item with a real person on it, that's just plain creepy. Then again having such items can also be considered for the best as it's far better than the fan stalking the poor guy.

Really?! $105 for a single? A single... as in 1 song. Not even a whole album. Why not just sell the sheet and pillow case by itself? They say the sheet and pillow case are an add-on. Seems more like the single is the add-on.

This is the Super special edition. It'll come out regularly in July. It might be 1 new song, or 2 new songs, or like Akatsukizukuyo, where there was 5 versions of the same song (one version was exclusive to the super special dakimakura version, which cost about the same (it also wasn't just a pillowcase, it came with the pillow)). It's also a sheet set, for what looks to be a double-wide futon mattress. High-quality sheets (even for a twin size American mattress) can run well north of what this costs. You can wait until July and probably pay ~$1.29 for it on iTunes. @GVman: He just keeps trucking. He was not involved in the tax fraud, the people that ran his fanclub were. He was not involved in it at all and was even owed money from them. (They've been convicted and sent to jail now). That's why his fanclub's name has changed. The last couple of years have been tough, but he just keeps going. |
