I really enjoyed this movie. Spending the first half of the first movie recapping the show made it hard to get too excited about that movie, but this one actually had me cheering by the end. If that is all we see from the series, I can say that I'm satisfied.

Legion and Lightning Kid? Don't you mean Lunatic and Dragon Kid? Neutral

Corrected. Not sure why I keep wanting to call Lunatic "Legion;" don't think it's the first time I have done that. Razz

not surprising. a lot of people have a tendency to call those two legion and lightning.

Amongst new characters, Golden Ryan is an arrogant ass and a grandstander, but he is effective and he does fully appreciate teamwork with Barnaby.

which is why myself and a lot of other people was really sure JYB would have gotten the role as Golden Ryan. dont get me wrong dittman's take as ryan is definitely well praised ,though bosch does have a tendency to make characters with dislikable personalities (see lelouch from code geass & orihara from durarara as eg)more well executed towards the point that fans love to hate those characters.

Henry Dittman was absolutely fantastic as Golden Ryan and yeah really enjoyed his performance and just Golden Ryan as a whole. He was talking about The Rising and how much fun it was for him in the lead up to release on twitter actually. Just about everyone was brilliant and I was glad to see the dub continue to uphold and even surpass the standards it had set with the series and first movie.

Since obviously you couldn't mention it in the review, spoiler[what did you think of Crispin Freeman as Virgil/Andrew Scott and Sam Reigel as Schneider? Other than Crispin Freeman just generally always being really good I thought it was a neat little twist that helped tie everything together, including the 3 villains. They may not have gotten much development, but I think they definitely fulfilled their purpose in the movie very well. Matthew Mercer and Cristina Vee were also really fun to listen too. And of course Andrew Scott was the classic "mirror image of our hero if he'd taken the wrong path" villain, but I still felt bad for the guy in the end, especially during the credits where he's locked up in solitude with nothing but a photo of his father.]

But yes, being a big fan of the series and its dub, I thought the movie was fantastic here.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but glad to hear the dub is still just as good.

I watched the show in English and to be honest it's probably one of my all time favourite English dubs. I watched a few clips of the original Japanese on YouTube and while the voice acting wasn't bad (Hiroaki Hirata is always good) or even notably flawed it felt like I was watching the series in a secondary language.

I've watched dubs so natural sounding that they feel like the original voice track but never once before Tiger & Bunny have I heard a dub that was natural to the point where it made the original seem comparatively unnatural. The only thing that reminds me of the show's origin is the Japanese OP and ED.

Crispin Freeman voicing a character in the movie is the cherry on top of the cake which is why I can't wait to see it.

Yeah, I was pleased to hear his voice. Honestly, given the cast list on this, I'm a little surprised it took this long for him to appear.
