A show with the synposis of "bored because he defeats all of his opponents in one punch" doesn't sound too intriguing, to be honest. I'll wait until PVs and Cast & Staff information are released.

That's what I thought about this series too, until I started reading it. The key is that this is a comedy series; you're not supposed to take it seriously. In addition, Saitama actually IS frequently challenged despite his advantage (that is, the series invents some rather creative ways to prevent him from landing that one punch), and the series is just as much about the people whose lives have been affected by Saitama.

Like Leafy said, it's a comedy instead of whatever else you think it's trying to be. The villains are very creative and how the plot is executed is quite unique! It sounds boring since you think the MC is just like a God/Gary Stu but it's actually much more than that.

I want to see the promo to get a better feel for it, but it looks to be a interesting and funny series.

The funniest thing about this series is that everybody except the main character is a typical overpowered superhero or villain who is either fearsome or cool and who has a tragic past along with a charismatic personality. Then imagine all of them being destroyed by a guy who is bald, looks like your average neighbor, who's backstory is basically about him as an office employee and who gained his powers through P90X-esque programs while everybody else shoots mountains or fights demons.

One-Punch Man is brilliant; it's simultaneously a loving parody of superhero excess, and an outstanding example of one (think of the Robot Chicken Star Wars specials for comparison).

Saitama, despite his simplistic hook, has development and more complexity than one would expect. The action is exciting and dramatic when it needs to be, but never loses it's ridiculous charm.

My only concern is that while One Punch Man works incredibly well as a manga, i'm not sure how it'll translate to the animated form.

PS: If anyone reads the plot synopsis and thinks "How can this possibly be interesting?", check out Jason Thompson's review of this series on 'House of 1000 Manga' on this site

I checked the archives, and I can't find it. Is it part of a bigger list?

Ok, 100% my bad, i got COMPLETELY screwed up; the article i was thinking of was a review by Chris Sims for Comicsalliance. Here's the link:

If the producers are hoping to create a long-running Shonen Jump adaptation a la Bleach and One Piece, then they'll need to use ONE's source or there won't be enough story to go around.

Still, there have been 8 volumes so far and that's good enough for a quarter or two. Looking forward to seeing Saitama's serious punches animated in colour!
