Include a Japanese language option, English subtitles, and the correct aspect ratio and you got yourself a deal!

If they're releasing old Sony stuff, can they get Cyborg 009 and finish it for once? Surely those remaining dub episodes are out there.

Although if Mill Creek is pulling a S'More and stuffing 13 episodes onto each disc...ugh.

English subtitles is what I want since I'm deaf. :/ Hasn't watched this anime since Kids' WB days.

EDIT: Also, according to Amazon retail, it's $15 ONLY if you use Amazon Prime, which needs to include other items to accumulate to $35 total. My take is that it may be well over $20 for this anime DVD set alone.

This isn't even newsworthy. This is just a downgrade of the previous set, which was already horrible at cramming all the content onto only 5 discs. Now it's 4 discs, so more squeezing and maybe they removed the extras too. Did I mention more expensive?

Go buy the (incomplete) Korean release which is widescreen and English subbed.

Amazon's free shipping requires a $35 purchase without Prime. If you already have it, you get free two day shipping on most items sold or fulfilled by Amazon (but not other businesses that sell through Amazon and ship themselves.) There is no minimum purchase for Prime two day shipping. I've used it on items that only cost a few dollars.

The free shipping for purchases over $35 is not two day shipping, usually USPS, and may not ship immediately, while Prime members get their orders shipped as soon as they are in stock (or on the street date of media products.)

Yes nothing excited for us F-man i already have it and it doesn't break any new ground there is still so much other Tezuka anime that will never see the light of day in English if things keep being as they are why isn't Discotec releasing more ?

I don't think they are going to include a sub version Mill Greek is the kind of company that will slam as much on a dvd is possible and does things on the cheap and doesn't do any restoration once however.

A good thing i can say about this we might got another Anime licensor that might be to stay not drop it after like a few months.

I'm glad I'm not the only who wants this.

Nice release, but hopefully Mill Creek will do right by not stuffing things into paper sleeves. I think they're getting a little better.

Mill Creek is kinda like a middle ground between Shout! Factory and Echo Bridge. Their releases aren't as nice as Shout's, and rarely contain any bonus features, but unlike Echo Bridge, they appear to give SOME crap about the stuff they release, and they ATTEMPT to put out as nice of releases as possible at the highest quality, but with the lowest price. Their releases of Roseanne and Married with Children even corrected mistakes from previous releases. Heck, for this release, they point out that this is the 2003 "reboot", so at least they have SOME knowledge of the Astro Boy franchise (unlike Echo Bridge, who couldn't even get the order of the Pokemon movies correct for their set).

At the very least, this set looks more compact than Sony's 2005 release, and the cover looks nicer too. Pretty sure it will be dub-only though.

I would love to see them put out Cyborg 009. However, their deal is only for stuff that Sony has already released to disc, and they would only have access to the first 8 episodes. They would have to negotiate a whole new contract for the rest, and since Mill Creek's main business is not anime (I believe this is their first such release), I highly doubt that would be in their interest. I could see maybe Discotek picking up that show. Maybe.

Mill Creek might put out Blood+ though.

Mill Creek's blu rays are actually underrated. I own a couple and they are pretty well done. Bare bones but well done. They also have the best BD of The Lady from Shanghai (the two previous versions were botched) as well.

From what I hear, their DVDs aren't so great though.
