As a kid I always lusted after the Aurora Godzilla model that was for sale in our local bookstore. It was beyond my means then when I had the money they no longer stocked it.
Now we've got all the models from the late 90's and 2000's that I bought with my kids, plus the new current editions. So I'm a happy camper when it comes to model Kaiju.

Godzilla's status as good guy/bad guy depended on the movie or block of movies. In the early 70's he was most certainly a "good guy." In the 2001 GMK movie he was most decidedly a "bad guy", although "angry, avenging spirit" is probably a better description.
In other movies he wasn't so much good/bad but simply an embodiment of a force of nature or some metaphorical symbol. Or just an oversized creature following his own instincts.
Books have been written about this, so I'll stop right here.

Looking pretty awesome so far. Don't let us down!
As for Godzilla good guy/bad guy thing, I feel it works best when he is really neither of the two, which is more or less how he was in last year's movie.

In Japanese Silly Godzilla movies? Good guy in most cases. In others, chaotic neutral.
In Zilla 98? Bad guy.
Zilla Cartoon? Good guy, outside of the Cyber-Zillas.
Legendary Godzilla? Force of nature, like the original Japanese film.

It probably says a lot that my gut reaction to looking at these was to think they're just lazy ideas, simply slightly different versions of dinosaurs that really existed. Even when I realize the original Toho designs were the exact same thing it somehow seems less special in this case.

I don't know why you stop there. It is true that that he was either, depending on the movie. I like either version because of all the destruction he causes.

Nice designs and names. There's always been discussions like this concerning how to define Godzilla. The best way to describe him is a "force of nature". If you go back to the older films he was a creature that was the result of a "post war Japan". Sending the whole socio-political message that nuclear war and war in general are bad. But he's back again and now you got more monsters that are results of the radiation. Godzilla fights with them and he goes away. Plus, the people are sort of caught between turd salad and sh*t sandwich. Because let's be honest everything they throw at both monsters don't work. Mothra was the force to keep Godzilla's means to trample in check.
Then in all those later movies, he ended up being the "hero". Bring in the ALIEN INVASION. They offer to get rid of Godzilla, but turn it turns out to be an alien take over, Godzilla appears, gets defeated, gets 2nd wind and kicks a$$. Or it's a random monster that appears and causes problems or they create one to get rid of Godzilla and now you the viewer is still rooting for Godzilla given the situation.
By the time the new 90's movies come around they brought Godzilla back to the bulky mean force of nature. But now while they're trying to figure out how to get rid of him, enter "We Come to take over...I'm mean in Peace", elimination projects backfire or tire him out, monster invasion, we need Mothra (although this time even it has a harder time, this ain't you daddy's Godzilla), now with glorious special effects. It wasn't until the last movie that they went on this whole "spiritual" kick that Godzilla is willing to forgive the human race. That's where the whole "force of nature" concept comes full circle.
So who knows what the new out of retirement movies from TOHO will come up with. I know we're getting one in 2016 and now for the US one in 2018. All I'm looking forward to is King Ghidorah's new look.
