But it's really Piccolo Day, the day Piccolo Daimao took the capital of DB Earth.

Of course, shortly after, Goku plowed right through him.

While CIS countries and not only celebrate this day as Victory Day over Nazi Germany, the Japanese people, who fought on the German side and lost, will celebrate this day as... Son Goku Day? This is surprising.

I watched Dragonball and DBZ for the first time last year and was blown away by Nozawa-san's performance. That being said, I think a younger woman should be cast as Goku in the new series.

In this case, Happy Goku Day! Smile
Too bad Piccolo's own declaration of "Piccolo Day" has been overwritten.

(traces of passive-hostility left over from so-called "Star Wars Day": )

Quote:
The Japan Anniversary Association has "officially" recognized May 9 as Goku Day. The numbers 5 and 9 can be read in Japanese as "Go" and "Ku" respectively.

Okay, if we're going to have stupid number-pun holidays, WHERE is our Miku Day on March 9?

Goku being Nozawa's son, haha. Now there's an amusing and yet appropriate thought. :D

Japanese fans can be very picky about voice acting replacements, especially when they're so iconic.
Even if she retired, there would be riots.
