Yay for a new Animal Crossing game, but it's becoming bothersome of Nintendo coming up with add-on products for its software. Not only that but the add-on products kinda takes away the experience of mobile gaming (like, I don't want to carry around cards and the reader with me).

I understand their desire to be innovative but one thing I have noticed is that they create an add-on product for a few games but never use it again. For example, I can't think of anyone who still uses the AR Reader, and the New 3DS, while capable of playing 3DS and DS titles, only has one game that can only be played on the New 3DS.

The NFC reader will get much more use due to how popular and amiibo are and the number of compatible games. The New Nintendo 3DS' main selling point is the enhanced gameplay and performance. Xenoblade is more a bonus due to the fact that it can play on the hardware without any major compromise.
