You're blowing it waaaaaaaaaaay out of proportion. Just like we're in our right to spend countless nights discussing how good our chinese cartoons actually are, they are in their right to discuss which is the best type of ponytail out there. I, for one, don't see a problem. Also, the best Absolute Area is the over-knee one. |

I'll be completely honest, I've often been drawn to that patch of exposed skin between a thigh high and the end of the skirt. Something about it just draws my attention. And I also admit that I really like that hairstyle, but I'm not attracted to that absolute area.
And my absolute area of choice is the thigh high and some what the over-knee. But the thigh high is far better than the over-knee. |

Maybe that is because where the thigh leads to? It is like a little tease of what can't be seen, but might be. |

If I had to think about what caused these thoughts to enter my mind, I would guess it would be Rin Tohsaka from Fate/Stay Night. That was one of the first anime I watched when I got back into anime a couple years ago and I was always drawn to her, but more so when she was wearing her casual outfit, the long-sleeved red shirt, black skirt, and thigh highs. In her school uniform where she wears a longer skirt, I don't find myself drawn to her nearly as much. I think that's where it started for me and now I can't get it out of my head. |

This has got to be one of the most harmlessly dumb things otaku have come up with in recent memory (so long as they don't start leering at girl's ponytails in real life, I guess). I honestly don't think this'll catch up or become a real trend
You might want to remember that string when you want to talk about the most stupid otaku fads ever, though. |
