I appreciate the review.

However, there are plenty games related to anime/manga (at the very least, have anime/manga art style) that need more reviews because they're usually neglected by some major gaming sites due to being niche and such.

I think review of those kinds of game will suit better on ANN than this. Just saying.

This one isn´t coming back and i never got why Microsoft of all people gave him money to then drop the man like a hot potato when the Kinekt was finally strangled. The Kickstarter route sounds unfeasible too but i loved the ride regardless.

Let´s see if who will fund Deadly Premonition 2...

@SHODAN93 Yep. This is a (failed) anime/tv pilot and not a game so the adventure part is just a functioning skeleton. And that is fine.

Pretty disheartening to see a D+ on gameplay. You might as well give a D+ to Telltale games or any other point and click adventure. Just because you expect some gameplay elements like puzzle solving and learning checks doesn't mean the game should be discredited. Story wise, it was meant to be an episode that lead several others and for what it was, it was pretty great and what you'd expect from a Swery title. If you like anime, you'll probably like what you see here.

For this to be done on the PC, was a bit of an odd choice since this is more of a game that actually was worth playing through the Kinect (one of VERY few games that makes having the Kinect worthwhile).

To do the interactions using your voice and moving through the QTE's, instead of just hitting buttons, it made it fun, instead of just being a QTE filled Resident Evil game (as of getting more annoying after 4).

All in all, it's something that's worth playing on the Kinect, but not something that's making a purchase of the Kinect a requirement. If you know of a friend that has the Kinect, that's how I'd recommend it at the very least.

I was able to get it for free on the One from a free download for having Live Gold membership.

For anyone who has played D4, how does it compare to Indigo Prophecy (aka Fahrenheit)? Everything I've read, this review included, seems like a checklist of features and qualities IP had. I can handle QTE's if there's enough intrigue in the game's narrative, which the colorful screenshots certainly supplant.

How fleshed out are the incidental details of each crime scene? Is there enough to interact with besides just the nine clues?

@Battle The actually gameplay in Deadly Promotion makes even less sense then in Fahrenheit as it is called over here but it is interesting in a hard to define way. A mix of GTA and RE 4 if you want. FH is a well produced game with quality voice action. DP has bad production values with a lot of charm that would have worked on the PS2 as originally intended. The voice action of the 2 leads is great and everyone else is a mess but a charming one. The music is hell but memorable and the FH score is top notch. The writing in DP starts as strong as in FH but grows and doesn´t shit the bead 2/3 due to lack of money / sanity on the creators part. A lot of people call it a comedy and that is true too a degree but it is a tragic comedy as the game grows exceptionally dark over time.
The game isn´t a hopeless affair tough an it leaves on a fulfilling note with a posible promise for more. FH though leaves one empty as nothing is resolved but it also promises more to never deliver. DP has great romance and FH doesn´t but i liked the ex girlfriend . A shame about her as her last scene also marked the end of quality for FH. FH was the Xenogears of the PS 2 era.
A strong but weird first half and then... CRAZY PILLS on and budget / script out of the widow.

FH:7,5/10. DP: 9/10 but don´t expect a fully working game and more of a great Tv shows.
