Cautiously optimistic about Battlefront. Loved the first two games, but skeptical about this new EA reboot.

So am I, since everything I hear says that it's all multiplayer and there's no campaign option. Eff playing with other people who are a million times better than me. I hate losing, I want the option to do some comp stomps when my ineptitude pisses me off.

That game footage looks pretty good, but is it true that there's no campaign, space battles or galactic conquest in this game and it's all multiplayer?

Battlefront was never much of a campaign game really, but it is unfortunate that it's completely gone now. Guess you just have to practice and hope you get better than other people. Or I guess you could blame your team. Razz

Maybe they'll have an "instant action" option as the old games did. Not a campaign, but would be offline with bots.

I believe that is all true from what I have read previously. Admittedly I have not done the best at keeping up with things, but I don't think anything has changed from then.

Though I don't mind some things not being the same. This is a reboot after all, and I don't expect it to be the same game. Plus, I would not want them to copy too much from the previous games, as those were a bit...quirky at times.

Yea I don't mind if it's different but campaign seems like such a major thing to cut. And I will be dissapointed if it's all multiplayer based, I like more options to a game.

Who knows maybe it'll be amazing despite all the bad things I hear, here's to hope!

This game is gonna be awesome, like Battlefield but with Star Wars (so 100x better). Will only be playing multiplayer anyway so the no campaign doesn't bother me, got Fallout 4 for singleplayer fun.

Let's see...
- No Space Battles
- No Galactic Conquest
- No Instant Action
- Health recovers automatically
- No classes
- Unlimited ammo (If I saw correct)
- Vehicles are now kill-streak perks
- At-At runs on rails
- 20 vs 20 is the maximum amount of players
- Tiny maps
- No Clone Wars

They are also breaking canon with the whole stuff about Ackbar holograms and rebels having jetpacks in Hoth... I don't see any reason at all to not just play Battlefront 1 or 2, EA is obviously trying to cash in on the Battlefront name, when they could have invented their own...

And have everybody call it a knock-off? which is pseudo-funny since BattleFront itself is essentially a knock-off of EA's Battlefield.

I'm not really sure. But with this new Battlefront lacking so much stuff that was in the previous Battlefronts, they should just call it "Star Wars: Battlefield" and be done with it, since this one obviously isn't a Battlefront.

It may not be the ideal Battlefront game people want but after the 10 years it spent in development hell under Lucasarts it's the best they'll get.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't what was supposed to be Battlefront 3 scrapped altogether? I remember that we saw that one video of it, with the game supposedly combining regular and space battles into the same map (so that you could change between them at will, just grab a ship and fly to space et cetera)

Something tells me Battlefront 3 and this game have only the name in common, but I could be wrong, of course.
