I really hope that this tagline doesn't actually come true. I mean Naruto and Sasuke needed almost 700 chapters to get to their half-god-level and now this snotty Boruto brat wants to surpass them in just one single movie? :-/

Classic Son Gokū to Son Goten situation; the elder ones ( the father) training like mad for X number of [chapters/days], and the youngsters have "gained" the fruit to their training because they were conceived after the father has reached Ultra Level 999.

And we know that Son Goten never surpassed his father at all.

I like how we've seen Boruto for literally 5 pages worth of content (if that!) and people have already written him off.
Anime fans. 
As if a person can't grow and/or change and that's not what the movie will obviously be about. No no, Naruto's kid must be a perfect little angel who worships his dad like a god or else!

True, however there are two main differences here:
#1. Goten achieved Super Saiyajin 1 at an early age (he was seven-years-old, IIRC), but he wasn't as strong as the adult Gokū was, who had achieved SSJ3. (Which is likely the case here, as well.)
#2. Goten never had the intention to surpass Gokū, or showed any interest in training during peaceful times. Boruto is described as having the will to surpass his father Naruto.
Most likely Boruto will tackle the antagonist's kid, with Naruto going after the baddie, not Boruto K.O.-ing both bad guys.
