Naruto has novels - let's make FT novels!

If by Gaiden you mean the Spinoffs like Zero and Ice Trail, Mashima was doing them long before the Naruto one started, and Fairy Tail light novels have been around for years.

Oh The Sabertooth one, i always just called it the Sabertooth spinoff.

But to be fair he wasn't copying Naruto because he had been doing Fairy Tail spinoffs for a while, and likely didn't even come up with that name himself.

Sabertooth was meant to take the place of Zero and Ice Trail now that they wrapped up.
