$30+ for one giant amiibo? That's kinda fair since they are in limited quantities. I'd someone rants about this, I'd be surprised.

A lot of Amiibo collectors would demand more when it becomes rare or In short supply. This is one of the reasons Nintendo's Wii U getting more sales.

That's just my opinion.

I'm not at all surprised that the Amiibo of Giant Yarn Yoshi is at that price, considering that it'll probably be a Limited Edition version.

I wonder what the situation concerning the Amiibo is over in Japan, anyhow?

Compared to the US, heavenly. I was able to find Lucina, Palutena, Pit and Ganondorf easily, and my friend had no trouble getting Marth, Ike, Robin, Lucario, Greninja, Zero Suit Samus and Fox. Hell they even had a whole bunch of these fluffy Yoshis. I kinda regret not getting one, but oh well, I was running out of space.

It may have a limiting effect. Nintendo using scarcity to promote consumer uncertainty and drive consumers to purchase the toys immediately. Wise for the short term, but could stifle in the long term.

For instance, some people want to buy Wii-U for the Amiibo, but if they can't get Amiibo, then they won't buy the Wii-U unless they're certain they have the Amiibo - thus stifling Wii-U's consumer base growth and, by extension, # of future potential Amiibo buyers.

Few Days late ANN.

I would like that, but paying possibly 30KCLP... I'll stick with the small pink one if I ever catch one.

There's also the fact that some people might become discouraged and give up trying to get amiibo, even when they're new.

I have a very difficult time finding them, as even Kirby has become scarce where I live. Now, it's all Mario, Peach, Link, Yoshi, Toad, Sonic, and Pac-Man and nothing else. amiibo come out on Fridays, and I have work on Fridays that's not reasonably close to any place that stocks amiibo, so by the time I'm able to buy them, they've already run out of everything from that set.

I heard there are second runs of Marth, Palutena, and the like, but I haven't seen any fruit from that yet. amiibo shelves here are still just as barren as ever or are filled with like 30 of the common ones. But at this point, I'm treating most of the amiibo like unicorns.

I haven't heard anything about the WiiU's sales up ticking to any degree since the Amiibo's came out
