I suppose they required him for either the plot or monster designs.

Monster designs by Junji Ito....

...have I mentioned how much I despise Konami?

Maybe if Del Toro ever gets his At the Mountains of Madness film made, he can get Ito on that.

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is best known as Motoko Kusanag and has made songs for Silent Hill. However, her longest contribution to anime is being the co-director/director Naruto for a decade. Interesting that she has worked on a famous project which could have had work done by the manga-ka of a series that is the last name of the character that represents her longest anime contribution.

All this article tells me is that del Toro has started to set the stage for a Kickstarter.

GG Konami....you had the master of horror manga on your team and you just had to cancel what could've been something spectacular for Silent Hill fans.

Evil or Very Mad

That's my hope, and I'm not even a fan of the horror genre.

I watched a playthrough of PT and after reading about the response to it, was thoroughly impressed by it.

All I can is that stranger things have happened, so who's to say this won't still happen?

between this and Konami not making any more properly numbered Suikoden games I am getting pretty damned pissed at them. this isn't even the genre of game I'd usually play but damn, I'd have played the hell out of it (or at least watched my niece play it). it would have been epic.

I can't stand Konami.. thank u for burning us even more with the Silent Hills game. I don't understand that game would've made SO MUCH MONEY!!! But Konami said "nope, not happening" then they disappointed everyone and even Kojima left them. Sigh. I don't even try anymore.

What part of this article in any way suggested that?

Just a few months back he swore off game development, since every game he works on doesn't pan out. He thinks he's cursed or something.

If anything, Ito collaborating on one of his movies would be more likely.

He was just being sardonic.
