I saw the anime special of this game so all hyped about this game...

it's been a while since my last Tales game..

Not bad. But so far out of the three tales games I have actually played tales of xillia 2 is the best.

Well I have not played tales of xillia 1 because it did not interest me as much as 2 did. And tales of xillia 2 was different than 1, because they both had a different main protagonist. And tales of xillia 2 recapped what hapened in the first one.
