The movie looks like it was set in the middle of the series. I thought the movie was going to end the series and so answer some questions that the series left open?

I guess someone actually read my post. Anime smallmouth + sweatdrop

I'm cautiously optimistic about the movie, since the trailer seems to suggest a retcon of the series ending. I'm pretty interested in seeing who this new villian is.

I am pretty sure the villain is spoiler[Envy, who passed through the gate after Ed in dragon form and is the only homunculi left (as far as we know) whom the brothers didn't put an end to. And, since Envy can take any form, this leaves a lot of room for interesting characters he is masquerading as. ]

I will be surprised if this character is NOT the villain, shall we say.

Personally this is one of my very favorite show right now and I was very happy to hear about the movie. Though I didn't like how short the trailor was, it just makes you want to see more of it!!!

Okay, not really.


I'm psyched about this movie. Full Metal Alchemist was an instant favorite, so I have high expectations for the movie.

I'm of the opinion that the clips in the trailer are from a flashback sequence, that presumably sets up the main plot of the movie and such.

Oh, and incidently, that one line Ed shouts in the middle of it is "koko wa oretachi no sekai da!" which translates to "this is our world!" ...time to get speculating.... >_>

Ah! And only just noticed this, but if you notice the face of the Elric's father isn't obscured on the photo like it is in the series. (though not like it's that hard to make out even there once you've seen apst a certain point...)
