So what does this mean for the future of Funimation?
Will Navarre Corp allow Funimation to operate like it is or will it start to tinker with daily operations?

Although FUNimation declined to answer any press related questions, there are a couple hints that can be found in the press release.

Speculative conclusion: The upper management of FUNimation shouldn't change. And you don't keep that kind of management in place if you plan on meddling with their day to day affairs.

Because some people can't seem to get it through their heads that the FUNimation of today is not the FUNimation of 5 years ago.

I see this mainly as Navarre Corp is seeing anime as a big money maker, and FUNimation being one of the largest, and with FUNimation's profit margins...

...They don't have to worry about losing any money. The net income of $30.5 million on sales of $81.6 million is 37.38%! Although, it isn't considering FUNimation's net profit, which can be found out by going to their website.

It will be a bit weird for me to know that the parent company for one of the country's biggest anime companies is based in Minnesota.

You're right. The FUNimation of today is BETTER than the FUNimation of 5 years ago, and Navarre's acquisiton of FUNimation will only strenghten Funi's position in the anime market.

What exactly does Navarre corp do? Does it have ANYTHING to do with anime/cartoons/TV/media/entertainment? And why Funi?

That was actually my insinuation, although I can see how it was sort of vague.

Highlighted the interesting bits. Basically this is going to mean that Funimation is in a much better position to distribute its releases than other anime companies, if I'm reading this correctly...
