That is not really fair. The orchard is a family business. Also, ambition doesn't mean you have to move to the big city or indoctrinate yourself into a caffeine high lifestyle.

A rural or city lifestyle both have their positive and negative incentives. Both are equally important to a nation.

The bright city lights always beckon. But choosing to live in a small town doesn't mean you have no life, no ambition, or you are a country bumpkin. Especially in today's global information age.

Wow, well I guess someone doesn't like rural living. And what a way to stereotype.

In fact many of the most wealthy people live rurally. And that is likely to rise as many jobs are becoming decentralised.

Man I'd go just for the tourism. I wonder do Japanese really feel like that some times. Just wanting to get away?

I think a lot of people do. But few have the chance, since the heart of the industry is centered around the urban areas (Tokyo, Kyoto etc.) Many of the more secluded villages are entirely abandoned today, or only a few usually very old people remain who refuse to move.

On the other hand, more people have been reported to move back to rural areas or smaller cities lately. This might become a trend.
