More Symphogear in the future? I'm interested as long as they can introduce some new memorable characters or neat songs.

That's good to hear, especially with that numbers to go with it.
I guess the next one will be called 5D's?

What's interesting is that the BD sales get better after every season. So the 4th season may sell even more.

That's thrilling news! If only there were some way for Funimation to get Symphogear going in the U.S...

Seriously? This greatly disappoints me lol. Quality really isn't what's important for sales, I guess.
I'm not saying it's a horrid show though. I just feel that the franchise is pretty average.

More Aoi Yuuki and Nana Mizuki isn't a bad thing.

Great! I love my Symphogear! How about some better voice talent for the new singing girls this time, though? Inori Minase was a baaaaaaaaaad choice. How about Aya Hirano or Madoka Yonezawa? Or better yet, Megumi Hayashibara? Eh? Ehhhhh?

I find it sad because S3 was really bad compared to 1 and 2. Had a good first ep and then everything between that and the last couple were mediocre to downright bad with the melodrama forced in that makes a Mari Okada show look tame in comparison.

I won't say I had a "bad" experience with s3, but I definitely can agree the season was noticeably on auto pilot after the first couple intro episodes for the season.
The biggest missed potential was dealing with the concept of father/daughter relationships especially if they are strained.
The ideas no doubt sounded good on paper in the earliest planning process but when they got around to actually making the episodes they became as irrelevant as an additional power up during a fight scene against a mook of the week.

While I'd love a full flown season 4 announcement now, that's good enough for the time being.
Season 3 might have taken a lot of shots, but in the end money talks. Glad it's sold well enough to get another season. Plenty of ways they can step things up and hopefully keep this thing rolling.

Well I'd say that was a heck of a backhanded compliment. But there wasn't actually a compliment so it was just bashing.

I was skeptical when he said it was the best selling cause the show was horrible... Too horrible...
But well, I guess Japan loves that kind of show and since the chart has proven its sales, there's no arguing the fact since it sold thrice the popular TLDR2 and about twice Charlotte. Hands up GX!

Here's hoping s4 comes with an insert single for Miku since she didn't get one in s3.

I'm not fully versed on this genre, but it would seem that these types of shows have the ability to do remarkably well for a time and then flame out suddenly, with no concrete reasoning or explanation for either the high or low. Personally I thought season 3 was on average with the others. It didn't dip or pop at points like the others, but kept a fairly even pace. Does that necessarily make it the best of the summer season? I don't think so, but as always what sells is what gets made, so not much reason to argue about the choice to make a new one.
As for the prospect of a US release, I imagine its popularity in Japan actually hurts rather than helps. The licensing fees for the songs will only increase as the series builds popularity, and it's my guess that these fees are precisely what have kept it from being licensed thus far. Not saying someone might not pick it up still, just that it's probably a challenge to justify economically for a genre of greater unpredictability in the West than in Japan.
