That's quite a negative there. Laughing

To be honest, while I loved Emma to pieces, I was always leery about the relationship in A Bride's Story. But the reviews by both you and Rebecca Silverman have finally alleviated those fears to the point where I feel persuaded to purchase this series. So, kudos!

Hm, this series is actually looking interesting. By the way, where does it take place? Modern northern parts of Iran? Or more like south Turkmenistan?

The series covers a broad-ish area of Central Asia, with the traveling Mr Smith bringing us stories of other villages and cultures beyond Amir's nomadic relatives and Karluk's settled village. Volumes 4-5 feature characters near the Aral Sea in what's probably northern Uzbekistan now? And vol7 seems to be somewhere in Persia/Iran. Following Smith's route backwards, Karluk and Amir's village must be somewhere farther east.

I totally agree with the reviewer's opinion on the negatives on this volume. The only negative I can think of is that it is too close to the current chapter out in Japan and, therefore, that much longer to wait for the next volume.

I love the Smith parts, though--it gives me a greater appreciation and understanding of the culture & time period when viewed through the lens of a POV character (it's as new to him as it is to us, so everything is explained). Also, the twins' wedding was fantastic! But I still wast to read everything Kaoru Mori draws and writes because she's incredibly talented. All her work is amazing.
