And on the same day, Ono Daisuke left Mausu Promotion to go freelance. I sent that to ANN on the day of but either it was not considered newsworthy or was overlooked. Or someone on staff has something against news about OnoD since news about his Budoukan live was also passed over while Hanazawa Kana's was reported days later.

I kid. I know you guys receive tons of mails, but it would be nice if similar news pertaining Ono Daisuke were not coincidentally missed. ^^;

You know why seiyuus go freelance? Is simply they are in a position career and financial wise to?

I can only guess that it's because they want more freedom to do what they want. I assume that with an agency they're somewhat restricted. Also with an agency, the agency likely gets a percentage of their pay for each job, but in return helps promote them and get jobs, etc. If someone has become well-known and is in a position where the jobs come to them, it could be more advantageous for them to go freelance.

Of course this is all speculation on my part though.

IIRC, Chisa Yokoyama went freelance and started her own seiyuu agency at the height of her popularity in the late nineties. Think it's discussed in the Seiyuu ML archives, maintained by Hitoshi Doi.

Despite me hating the character of Sasuke (actually, I say "detest" is a better word), I do like his Sasuke though I think I prefer the English dub voice.

My question is the following: Why would it seem newsworthy if a seiyuu leaves their talent agency? If it wasn't for something scandalous or Sugiyama didn't have a falling out, what really would it matter? Though, not having a talent agency can make it harder to find work.
