Universal Japan is run by domestic management.

Nintendo has to diversify beyond their usual income sources. They just returned to profitability, but lately hasn't been as good:

Nintendo's quarterly profit slips 36%

Got to get your products out someway, sooner or later Nintendo was going to have to find a way to expand to things other than just the consoles.

When I visited Japan, I enjoyed the One Piece and Monster Hunter attractions at USJ a lot, so I hope I will be able to return there again for the Nintendo attractions! Very Happy
