So it is a TV series after all...

I'm more curious to see how far it will adapt the manga.

So will this be a reboot or a sequel to the TV series/movies?

With the sound of it this year will be an amazing year.

Hopefully it'll carry on from where the third film ends so I don't miss any. Though the PS2 game adapt the next part as well.

I'm more interested on the casts... I want to have a negative Guts and Griffith! Let them roar and don't tone their scripts!

I think they understand that they have too many adaptations of the first part of the manga. It looks like this is FINALLY moving on! Whether they rehash some of the material before moving on we shall see. It would seem odd to do a direct sequel to the 90s show, given how old that is. And although the movies are more recent, I would prefer to forget about them.

So I suspect there will be at least some recapping.

The trailer looks an odd mixture of 2D and 3D, at least it isn't fully 3D like the movies I guess.

Griffith is barely in the black swordman stuff though. He is very much a distant background character for the most part. Depends on how they adapt it though.

@partially the movies weren't full CG, they were a mixture between 2D and 3D.

I really really REALLY hope it's a direct sequel to the movie trilogy. I very much enjoyed them and I'd love to see how the story progresses.

I'm all for Full 3DCG works -- I liked the art assets of Sidonia no Kishi and the currently-airing Bubuki/Buranki -- but if the movements of the characters in the PV could be a little smoother, I think it could give a stronger positive impact.

WOWOW anime is back, b*tches!

Personally surprise it isn't airing on NTV like the first series, though.

The minute I saw this article I was jumping for joy...

Then I saw the trailer...

I mean I know we all desperately want a new Berserk, but.. Come on man, that looks borderline PS3.

It being a TV series is great news. Now, it's all a matter of which arc they're going to animate. Will it be the Blackswordsman Arc, the Conviction Arc (since Guts is wearing armour from that arc), or both? Guess we'll find out.

(what'd really surprise me is if it were a new anime-exclusive story for Berserk written by Miura, but that's really not likely.)
