Except it isn't part of the Science Adventure series.

WOW! That sounds convoluted as hell. And doesn't really make sense, very much at all, based on the description. They'll really need to expand on what would cause the super weapons to target major cities because of clocks getting overloaded, among other things.

It's still part of the overall world building, Chiyomaru has just expanded Sciadv to his own "Chiyomaru series" work title. With Sciadv being the main series works and the others being side works.

Occultic;Nine falls under the Chiyomaru series area but still takes place within the overall world setting. (since @channel and other events are mentioned).

It's the same with Anon;Code, most of what was mentioned in the video has been said in passing with C;C, S;G0 and other titles. Faris mentions at least one of the theories that flashes in the trailer in 0. The tech words that flash on memory transfer are mentioned by Kurisu in Robotics;Notes.

Well, I guess you can call all these visual novels kind of convoluted, but if you're aware of the 2038 problem it's no more convoluted than those disaster movies about Y2K. Actually 2038 is potentially much worse than Y2K. Already we're experiencing problems from 2038 due to trying to save dates in the future. And Feb 6th, 2036 is the date of NTP rollover, which is potentially another similarish approaching problem. As a software engineer, this announcement is amazing. =D

I'm only vaguely familiar with The 2038 problem, so maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how that could possibly result in super weapons targeting specific major cities and blowing them up.

What I meant is that people said the same sorts of implausible disaster scenarios as Y2K, and at least some people believed those rumors. To their defense, 2038 is a much more ingrained problem than Y2K, much more difficult to fix and more likely to cause serious problems, but yes, it is an extremely long shot we'll end up blowing ourselves up because of it. But, it wouldn't be a very interesting story if it were completely realistic either, heh.

^ I see. Yeah, that makes sense. People did have some pretty ridiculous notions for Y2K. I guess I'll have to wait and see how they go about the whole thing.
