Great to know, I watched this a few years ago and I hated that some of the episodes were in mono. I look forward to the new release.

Any idea if they ever release it in the UK?

I'm thrilled that Magic User's Club is back in the market for newer anime fans to enjoy, this time with the much-improved audio. Smile

Crazy to think that a show released in 2000 had a dub in mono, of all things.

I guess Media-Blasters wasn't known as "Mono Blasters" among some fan communities in the early/mid-00s for nothing.

Now let's hope that Nozomi was able to get the Japanese remastered source. And unless something goes really badly, we should get a more up-to-date release without the VHS-era song/sign hardsubs featured in the Media-Blasters version.

http://demaagd.com/anime/dvdbugs/mb.html (From 2003 so probably doesn't list them all but they list and talk about the mono issue)

"Berserk is particularly unusual where the Japanese track in earlier volumes were in stereo but later become mono, and the English track alternates between stereo and mono on a per-volume basis."

I'm so glad when Media Blasters released Berserk remastered they fixed the mono issue.

A Right Stuf rep has confirmed they will not be hardsubbed.

Heh, so Media Blasters was a two-bit operation from the very start? Figures.
