Sounds kinda interesting based on the premise. Production I.G. is one of my favorite studios so I hope they can deliver.

Does Psycho-Pass count? If we just talk about "good" instead of "great", then Gargantia fits the bill too.

I did not know Ajin is on Netflix now. Is it English dub or subbed?

So, does this mean that Netflix funded this show entirely? If so, I hope that this venture is successful and that Netflix keeps investing in future anime projects.

Both are great to me. And if we are talking about adaptations, let's not forget about Barakamon and Maria the Virgin Witch.

Season 1 sure but that was written for them by urobutcher. And they have failed to make a good follow up, same can going for Gargantia which was good but not great.

Will all the staffs be from Production I.G (so Netflix only produce, fund ? and stream it), or will there be like the screenwriter from Netflix.. I wonder.

So I suppose it'll have more than enough budget and (judging from Netflix's recent original series and Nakazawa's track record) probably offer more mature contents.

Somewhat not surprised that Netflix chose Production I.G and Nakazawa, it seemed that 'that Kill Bill sequence' is the only impressive animation they've seen.
Not that I'm complaining by the choice, though, looking forward to it.

Wasn't expecting Netflix to be funding an anime so soon. I am surprised by the choice of director(someone like Watanabe would've made more sense). Am sure the show will look great since Netflix loves to throw a ton of money into their productions.

They were referring to their original projects, not their adaptations.

Netflix seems to really be pushing for more quality anime content, which is great considering only a few years ago it was just 90% Funimation scraps. Now if only they could convince Saban/Toei to put subbed Digimon back up... Crying or Very sad

I wonder if this new show will be simuldubbed.

I'm willing to check this out. The director has some good credits to his name, the Kigeki OVA being a big standout to me.
