I want to get these books... but I have that money earmarked for the OVA series. If only Sentai Filmworks would tell us when they're releasing it, I can plan accordingly so I can get both.

I'll be getting these novels for sure! Gotta support getting them all, right now, only 3 have been promised!

I really do wish that Sentai would tell us some approximation of when the OVA series is coming out and in what format, how much I'll be paying for it, etc. Because I'll get whatever super special edition they come out with, and I hope they come out with one!

I'm gonna hold out and wait for the OVAs to be released. Being told that they only guarantee 3 novels is something that makes me steer clear, so buying the novels can wait until details of the OVA release come out.

Oh come on guys. It should be OBVIOUS why they would only license 3. It's old and they have no idea whether there would even be enough of an audience to justify it. Otherwise it's a huge waste of their time and money.

You are pretty much doing exactly what they are afraid of by not buying it so they realize there IS an audience. And therefore licenses the rest

It's 11$ FFS

I'd probably be looking at closer to $20AUD for a copy. Plus, I don't want to end up with 3 out of 10 volumes of a series. Will say, I'd be more understanding if the company release the series was One Peace Books, rather than Viz.

Mr. Bonk is right. Very Happy

We don't want the LOGH novels to fall victim to other incomplete Japanese literature that were cancelled due to low demand. The millisecond I get my next paycheck, I'm preordering volume 1 and I'll share this link on my social media. I want to send a clear message that LOGH is completely worth liscening the whole series both OVA and books.

I hope the novels sell very well, beyond the circle of anime fans. If Sentai manages to reach the science fiction fans LOTGH (the anime) has a bright future indeed.

I have waited far too long for this.

I got my copy yesterday from TRSI. I am sure we will see all the novels for the original series. In the back of vol 1 are two ads, one states that vol 2 will be released this summer and vol 3 will be released winter 2016. I hope the series is successful for Viz and Sentai. One of my favorite anime CDs is from the anime.

I'm definitely buying all three books since I've been waiting almost 30 years for someone to translate this series.

Preordered my copy yesterday! I'm probably going to run around screaming in excitement as soon as that Amazon box shows up next week. That translated excerpt was a lot less clunky than I feared, which is fan-freaking-tastic.

And I, too, would like to add my voice to the other fans wanting more information on the Sentai anime release. There is literally no price point at which I would not buy the set(s), but I just want to know what we can look forward to!

Got my copy pre-ordered.Never watched it,but I love a good Space Opera. I fully understand why VIZ would take the wait and see approach with this.

I just checked TRSI and it says they have it in stock. I'm definitely ordering it, but I want to see what their next publisher sale is so that I can through this in with it.

From a licensing and business standpoint, they were wise to license so few since it's hard to know how well it will sell. However, given that that franchise is among the Holy Grail of anime/manga/book licenses, I'd say there's a slightly small chance that it will be popular enough to license the other 7.
