Sailor Moon is important to me because it’s a precious memory from my childhood. Growing up me and my best friend would pretend that we were Sailor Mars and Jupiter then chase the neighborhood boys away with our Cosmic Moon wands. We would also make a trip to Toys R’ US to buy as many Sailor Moon cards from the vending machines and if we had extra copies of a card we would swap with each other. About five years ago I created two Sailor Moon birthday cards and finished one, but as of June 19, 2014 it’s finally finished.

Sailor Moon means a lot to me because the series taught me all about girl power, how to stand up for myself, the power of friendship, and how to kick butt!
I think it is important for everyone to have strong female role models to look up to, and Sailor Moon was that role model for me growing up in the 90's. Sailor Moon taught me that just because I am a girl, does not mean that I can't save the world!
PS: I named my cat Luna, after the cat from the series!

I was six-years-old when "Sailor Moon" premiered in the United States. It has always been part of my life. When I was in high school, I went through a difficult time. I needed a complete change in my environment in order to deal with it all. I considered several options, but I stumbled upon an international school in Japan and it just felt right. Going there in 2007 was one of the most influential times of my life. I never would have been motivated to do so if it hadn't been for the impact "Sailor Moon" has made on me.

Ever since it first aired in the US, Sailor Moon has been a source of constant inspiration and love for me. It helped me find out where I wanted to go in my life, and who I wanted to spend my life with. When I got married, I knew I had to have all the senshi represented beside me at my wedding, so my side of the party became a Sailor Moon rainbow. I even danced to "Daddy's Girl" from the LunaRock CD with my father. Thank you, Sailor Moon!

When Sailor Moon was first televised in North America on my local channel 13 UPN, I thought it was a cool cartoon at the time but soon discovered it was so much more. I even went as far as renaming my characters in Final Fantasy 7 after them. I Cloud renamed to Darien (spelled Darian in the game since I didn't know any better) and Aeris/Aerith was renamed Serena. After 20 years, it is still one of my favorite series and Tuxedo Mask is one of my icons. I am hoping to cosplay as him Anime Expo!

Sailor moon means memories. New & old alike. I first started watching Sailor moon when I was 9 and I also I got my first Sailor Moon manga written in Japanese.Every morning I taped Sailor moon to watch later, never missing an episode. Now, my daughter has grown up under my Otaku wing, has (what I would relinquish of) Sailor Moon swag and has started a collection of her own. It means memories to me because I get to share my love and fond memories of Sailor Moon with the best Sailor Scout (Senshi) of all My Chibi Amelia!

I love anime posters, but Sailor Moon is my favorite; they make me feel like a true senshi. I was a child when I first got interested in Sailor Moon and no anime can replace what Sailor Moon taught me as a child and even still now it reminds me- love yourself, never give up and always do your best. If you don't, in the name of the moon, the Sailor senshi will punish you.

One reason I like Sailor Moon is that Mamuro, my lifetime crush, is in it. Even now, I judge all of my possible suitors, brothers & cousins by comparing them to Mamuro. :P However, I learnt valuable lessons about friendship, love, dreams, second chances & so on. The most inspiring was: We fight wars to eliminate the evil in our world that endangers all the good in it. But what is the use of all the fighting if we cannot save the innocent? What would we accomplish? Silence?! Sacrifices or baiting others isn't the only way to win.

My two daughters are 5 years apart in age and always seemed to be at odds, except when watching Sailor Moon or talking about the show. To me, it means happy times of peace and quiet! I just wish my son preferred it over Death Note...

As a child, I was sad that girls had to be rescued and marry a prince. I never understood why they couldn’t save themselves and fall in love with each other. Sailor Moon showed me a world where girls could save the world and could be true to themselves. In high school I came out as bisexual and my first cosplay was my favorite senshi, Sailor Uranus, a strong warrior who loved a woman. Today, I’m married to a man who supports my love of this wonderful show. Sailor Moon will always be important to me and I love it.

My best friends and I all love Sailor Moon. Even though we are each in our late 20s, we each still have a Sailor Moon birthday cake each year! This picture is from my 26th birthday!

My elder sister showed me Sailor Moon for the first time 2 years ago. Before that I had seen Dragon Ball Z & Barbie. I didn’t like either one of them as they were on the extremes. Sailor Moon was the only cartoons that was balanced: action-packed & a little girly. It also changed me as, at first, I didn’t like studying. When I saw Sailor Mercury, her high intellect & the cool stuff she did, I became determined to be like her. This year, I even got a “Good Progress†award! Thanks Sailor Mercury, you’re the best!

As a competitive dancer, my way of cosplaying is different. Every time I “transform†into one of my dance costumes, I act, look, and feel like one of the characters while I’m onstage. (This costume in particular is my Sailor Mercury cosplay!) The trophies I receive are my scepters, and the many friends I dance with are the other Sailor Soldiers. Together, we stand for the love and passion of dance! My performance level thrives through Sailor Moon’s inspiration just as my passion for the show makes my dancing stronger!

Andrea, Jesstine, and I took these pictures after band practice one day. That was freshman year when we all met, and we have been doing it every year ever since and plan to do so for the rest of our lives. I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. Andrea is like a little sister to me, the one I must protect, and Jesstine is the person I can tell EVERYTHING to, the one whose always there for me. Like Sailor Moon taught me, friendship is the greatest gift.

I was 12 when I first watched sailor moon. I fell in love with Minako, and absurd as it may be I dreamed of being her boyfriend and supporting her somehow in her struggles, trying to keep up with her and that outgoing personality (I'm not such a cheerful man). Today I still love her, but in a different way. Sailor Moon is romance, and to me Minako is like the Moon, something that although I wish to have in my hand, I know it's something I will never have. Ai no megami no How to Love. I love her.

Sailor Moon was the first anime I watched and it is one of the main reasons why I want to get into the animation field today. My favorite season is Sailor Moon Super S because of the Dream Mirrors. I think everyone has beautiful dreams and should aspire to follow them! It is my dream to animate something as beautiful as Sailor Moon. I will always think about the hard work that went into creating each episode and that is why I want to push myself to my maximum potential when it comes to animating.

When I think of my childhood I always remember collecting my sailor moon cards. I would get them from a classmate at school. I had collected over 200 cards until my neighbor maliciously stole them from me. I had spend 3 years collecting my cards and spending lunch money on them. They meant everything to me but now they're gone. My loving sister who saw my distraught slowly helped me collect some cards again. This is all I was able to gather throughout the years. My sailor moon cards mean so much to me and I will treasure them forever.

My cousin showed me Sailor Moon at her place a few years ago. As we live in a remote area (Kashmir), we didn’t know much about cartoons. I was awe-stricken by the Senshi! They were beautiful! They can fight, keep up their studies & still enjoy their life! I loved that idea. I like Mako-chan the most. She’s physically strong, loves cooking & does all her house chores herself! When I grow up, I want to be just like her! (My cousin, Hibbah Khan, is the one helping me with this as we don’t have a computer at our village).

Sailor moon means so much to me. Growing up I sadly dealt with bullying and sailor moon was the only thing that would truly make me happy. It had such a positive impact on me. I learned about courage, strength, friendship, love, and justice when I really needed it. I always related to her because we're so similar. When I was 12 I had an art project in school and made this portrait of my hero out of yarn. I still have this portrait hanging on my wall after all these years. Sailor moon will forever be in my heart.

Sailor Moon was extremely important to me as a young boy. It taught me that girls were every bit as strong as boys, and then some! (Move over Power Rangers!) As a boy I never felt left out knowing that I could never be a Sailor Soldier, especially seeing as I couldn't pull off the outfit, but I really looked up to strong female characters in anime. Regardless of gender, Usagi/Serena is one of the most relatable characters out there. I remember how excited I used to be watching it on Toonami, and I'm still just as excited today.

When attending Junior High (9th grade), I was in a severely depressive state due to constant bullying to a point of possibly harming myself. Schools have yet to offer counseling and outreach programs.
While watching broadcasting seasons of a show that gave me the drive to look deep inside myself for strength, perseverance and the will to fight and never give up; I was able to pull myself out of the sludge that is depression! That show was Sailor Moon!
Years later, I participated in a Sailor Moon locations themed tour of greater Tokyo! I'm 2nd from left. (Jindai Botanical)

Sailor Moon is my favorite TV show, as one can probably guess from all my "sailor swag." My kitty guardian must love it too, because Thomas' (Ar-Thomas?) favorite spot is laying with my plushes!

Everybody has a story of how they got into anime. Mine started before I ever saw a single episode of anything. It began with a toy I found at a garage sale. This item quickly became my favorite toy, but I still had no idea where it came from. Then while at a Blockbuster just browsing around I saw it. The very series from which my toy had come from Sailor Moon. Fourteen years later and my passion for anime has never went away. All thanks to Sailor Moon and my toy which still is the favorite of my collection.

As a kid, I got my siblings hooked on Sailor Moon. Even my brother! I’m 20 now. And am still a dedicated fan! I’ve always had depression, but recently it’s gotten worse. So… I decided to spoil myself and bought all five seasons! Watching it again, I appreciate Sailor Moon even more. Usagi’s so full of hope and energy; she‘s teaching me that although life is tough, never stop going because life is precious. The scout’s belief in the importance of life gives me strength to keep living. Thanks Sailor Moon! You’re my hero! You’re truly saving my life.

When I first saw Sailor Moon I was in my mid 20's, I always loved cartoons and this was my first anime. I loved it from the start. It had good stories and showed the power of love and friendship. I still haven't seen every episode but I still love the show and can't wait for the new ones.

Sailor Moon helped me through a tough time when my parents got divorced. It showed me that even though things can get rough, good will always win in the end. I also met some of my amazing friends through Sailor Moon and other anime which resulted in the submitted picture. Thank you Andrea for making my space dreams come true!

Sailor Moon was what made my childhood special. My first cosplay was with my childhood friend when I was in elementary school. We made Sailor Moon and Jupiter outfits from construction paper. I was Sailor Jupiter since I felt I related to her more. My family went through hard times and had to sell all my old toys. All I had left was a Sailor Moon doll with no clothes. Over the past few years, I've slowly been getting my old things back. I'm ecstatic I can enjoy Sailor Moon all over again!

Sailor Moon changed the entire course of my life when I accidentally stumbled upon the first episode in 1998. I was in awe of the artwork and culture, and subsequently chose my university based on which offered Japanese and study abroad courses. This also lead me to the city where I would meet my wonderful husband. My love for Sailor Moon has always been more than surface level and I related to Usagi and her friends like they were my own. I am ecstatic that another generation can experience this life-changing anime. Maybe it will change their fates, too.

I started drawing sailor moon when I was younger, and emulating the art style has greatly improved my skills. Sailor moon has been a part of my life for a long time, and the series means a lot to me, as a good part of an awful childhood.

This is an image of an outfit inspired by Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon taught me it was possible to embrace my hyper feminine identity while being an empowered and strong fighter. She has been the superhero of my life and my ultimate style icon. The beautiful world Naoko Takeuchi created has developed my own aesthetic as an artist. It was my introduction to an accepting world of love without judgment and the fascinating world of gender-bending. Sailor Moon has informed every major decision in my life: my style, my degree in Gender Studies, and now my career in Costume Design.

Sailor Moon was such a inspiration for me with my love for drawing and writing stories. With both the Anime and Manga I was able to make binders and binders full of fan art and comics. This encouraged me to make my own series and comics, which soon became binders full of just that. Now I major in storyboarding, and even after all these years I still look back at my wonderful collection.

Last year, my anime club held a bowling tournament where the winning team would get to choose what anime to watch the following meeting. Everyone who wanted to show Sailor Moon quickly formed a team. Little did I know the guy who carried us to victory would become my boyfriend! I never thought I'd find a guy who loves Sailor Moon like I do. We decided our first cosplay together should be our favorite characters from Sailor Moon and this picture is our favorite. I made both cosplays by hand. I still can't believe Sailor Moon brought us together!

Sailor Moon was my Hero, she was a normal girl who was a lot like me. a klutzy crybaby but unlike me she was brave and strong. even though she was scared and cried a lot, she was always there for her friends. She would do anything for them, and seeing someone like that gave me hope. i didn't have friends when i was little but SailorMoon gave me the hope and courage to keep believing in the future. she taught me to be myself, to be kind and to be a good friend. she is my Hero

To me, Sailor Moon has always been a symbol of great achievements. With the fabulous art, themes, story, and characters, it was always a series that I showed to curious future anime fans. The series has opened up so many pathways for female mangaka, manga, and aspiring artists. When I saw the show come on TV when I was little, I loved the animation and later found the manga and was in love with it too. Sailor Moon has inspired me to become a creator of my own stories, and motivates me to draw better every time I see it.

Where to begin...
Sailor Moon is important to me because it was the very first anime series that I've ever watched. I watched it any chance I got; ever since the dubbed premiere back when I was five years old. I still do to this very day.
Most importantly, it was the reason that I decided to aim for my dream of becoming an animator, illustrator, and/or video game character designer/concept artist. It kept me drawing.
Being a longtime lover of the series, it holds too many memories for me to list in only one hundred words.

Ever since I could remember, I enjoyed drawing, but I struggled with what to draw. It wasn't until fourth grade, when I discovered my passion: Sailor Moon. I remember long, hot summers sitting in my room, referencing my manga, and drawing for hours and hours.
Even after all these years, I attribute my talent, interests, and creative inspirations to Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon.
It's a lifestyle.

These are my friends (I am Moon). We share the same passion. I read Sailor Moon for the first time in the bookstore when I was 10- at 23, my friends from various backgrounds all love the same girl. In my most recent company photoshoot, I wore my Moon boots and tiara and felt so confident. This is what Sailor Moon means to me. Confidence, power, female, women: inclusive. I love Sailor Moon and I want everyone to know it.

Sailor Moon is something extremely precious to me.
As a child, I was bullied constantly, but Sailor Moon always made me feel better.
Sailor Moon gave me hope for a future I'd never thought I'd have. Sailor Moon gave me the dream of becoming an artist since I was only five years-old.
Now I'm an adult that keeps Sailor Moon close to my heart for giving me the dream that's about to become reality.

Sailor Moon has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember! When I was a kid, I used to rush home from school everyday to watch a new episode. I never would have thought, almost 20 years later, I'd be doing the same thing! I'm glad that Sailor Moon is back in everyone's lives <3
