Japan Expo 2012 Cosplay
by Christopher Macdonald, Jul 20th 2012
As with any anime convention anywhere in the world, cosplay is a big part of Japan Expo. Cosplayers numbering in the tens of thousands walk the convention floor posing for pictures for anyone who asks. There are also professional cosplayers attached to certain booths, and of course the European Cosplay Gathering, bringing together some of the best cosplay from all-over Europe (think World Cosplay Summit with less drama).
Instead of using the main-events space, there is a dedicated cosplay stage in the main hall. The stage is always open for cosplayers to walk on and pose or perform a skit. There is consistently an audience of over a thousand people watching.
