San Diego Comic-Con 2012
Funimation Panel

by Bamboo Dong,

Comic Con attendees who also made it to Funimation's Anime Expo panel may have recognized much of their presentation, which was largely unchanged in the two weeks between both conventions. Funimation's panel opened with a reminder that two of their titles, Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins, are airing on Adult Swim's Toonami block. They then ran through several of the ways in which fans could watch Funimation titles, such as Netflix, Hulu, and the FUNimation Channel (24-hr for AT&T UVerse subscribers, On Demand for Verizon FiOS subscribers), and access to new simulcasts available on Funimation's website and Hulu.

The panelists also ran through some recent and upcoming titles, like the new Dragon Age film, Tales of Vesperia, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, and others. They also briefly talked about some of the new properties they announced during Anime Expo, like Mitchiko to Hatchin, Appleseed XIII, Blood-C: The Last Dark, the Blood-C TV anime series, Binbogami ga! and others.

For those who missed yesterday's Mass Effect: Paragon Lost panel, Funimation showed the film's trailer again, with a recorded introduction by Freddy Prinze Jr., who is reprising his role as James Vega. The film is a prequel to Mass Effect 3, and was produced by Production I.G, in collaboration with BioWare, EA Games, Funimation, and T.O Entertainment. It will be released November 13, 2012.

Funimation's only new special announcement was the acquisition of the Korean live-action drama Athena Goddess of War.
