World Trigger Manga Goes on 1-Week Hiatus

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

This year's 11th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Daisuke Ashihara's World Trigger manga will go on a one-week hiatus. The manga will return in the magazine's 13th issue.

Ashihara also took a hiatus in September to treat the nerve roots affected by cervical spondylosis (wear and tear on neck area of spinal column), and again in December due to a sudden illness.

World Trigger debuted in 2013's 11th issue of Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Viz Media added the series to its digital anthology version of Weekly Shonen Jump, and it published the first print volume on October 7. Shueisha published the ninth compiled volume in Japan on January 5.

Viz Media describes the series as follows:

Weekly Shonen Jump's newest series is out of this world! A gate to another dimension has burst open, and from it emerge gigantic invincible creatures that threaten all of humanity. Earth's only defense is a mysterious group of warriors who have co-opted the alien technology in order to fight back!

The World Trigger television anime from Toei Animation premiered on the TV Asahi station and its affiliates on October 5. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs.
