Funimation Briefly Listed Chaos Dragon on Site

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

The website for North American anime distributor Funimation briefly featured a site for the Chaos Dragon television anime series with the trademark copyright listed as "© Licensed by FUNimation® Productions, Ltd. All Rights Reserved." The site provided a summary for the series and featured some key art, but did not mention whether Funimation will stream the series or release the series on home video. The site is no longer online.

Funimation revealed on Monday that it is streaming 20 titles this season, and the company has so far announced 18 of those 20 titles.

Funimation's summer simulcast lineup still lists two slots as "To be announced," and the list does not currently include Chaos Dragon.

Funimation's site lists the story of the series as follows:

Based on a table-top roleplaying session involving Gen Urobuchi (Psycho-Pass, Fate/Zero), Ryohgo Narita (Baccano!, Durarara!!), Kinoko Nasu (Kara no Kyōkai, Tsukihime) and more, Chaos Dragon tells the story of two countries locked in a never-ending war. In the middle of this chaos lies Nil Kamui, an island country that lost its independence after a guardian god known as Red Dragon spiraled out of control. Desperate to put a stop to Red Dragon's rampage, a small group of heroes rise up to bring peace back to their world.

The anime will premiere in Japan on Tokyo MX TV, KBS Kyoto, BS11, and Sun TV on July 2.

Masato Matsune (Fate/Prototype CG supervisor, Meganebu! opening storyboarder and animation director) is directing the television anime at SILVERLINK./CONNECT. Team Barrel Roll's Ukyō Kodachi (Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road, Macross Frontier novels) is in charge of the series scripts with assistance by Shō Aikawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost Slayers Ayashi, EUREKA SEVEN AO).

Funimation did not return ANN's request for confirmation by press time.
