Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade Game Slated for November 26

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website of the Dissidia Final Fantasy arcade game revealed on Tuesday that Square Enix will formally launch the game in Japanese arcades on November 26. In addition, Square Enix is also accepting applications to play trial sessions of the game ahead of its formal launch. Square Enix will hold the trial sessions on November 14 and 15, and will have 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 events on both days.

Koei Tecmo Games' Team Ninja (Dead or Alive series) is developing the game, which will use technology from a PlayStation 4 core system instead of a dedicated arcade circuit board.

Square Enix previously streamed a trailer for the game in April.

The arcade game will feature a 3 vs 3 battle system. The game will also include a summons gauge that players can use to summon Ifrit and other popular Final Fantasy summons when the gauge is full. Takeharu Ishimoto and his band The Death March will perform a new song for the game.

Square Enix had hosted two sets of location tests across Japan in April.

Square Enix released Dissidia Final Fantasy, a PlayStation Portable fighting game featuring Final Fantasy heroes and villains, in 2008 in Japan, and in 2009 in other parts of the world. The company then released the Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy sequel in 2011 for the PSP with new characters, stages, and story.
