Crunchyroll to Stream Durarara!! ×2 The Third Arc Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it will stream the Durarara!! ×2 The Third Arc (Durarara!!×2 Ketsu) anime as it airs in Japan, beginning on January 9 at 11:00 a.m. EST.

The stream will be available to users in North America, Central America, South America, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.

Crunchyroll describes the series:

Ikebukuro is engulfed in a spiral of confusion. A group of individuals, each carrying the weight of their own past, gathers at Shinra's apartment, while in the city the Dollars, Yellow Scarves, and Saika contend for power. However, the situation takes a turn that no one could expect when Celty's head is revealed to the public, as this tale approaches its conclusion.

Durarara!!×2 Ketsu (Conclusion) is the third and final part of the three-part Durarara!!×2 sequel TV anime series. The first part (Durarara!!×2 Shō or "understanding") premiered in January 2015 and ran for 12 episodes, and the second part (Durarara!!×2 Ten or "motion") premiered in July 2015 and ran for 12 episodes.

FLOW will perform the opening theme song "Steppin' Out," and Penguin Research will perform the ending theme song "Joker ni Yoroshiku" (Say Hello to Joker) for the series.

The sequel series also inspired the Durarara!!×2 Ten Gaiden!? video anime that premiered in Japanese theaters on November 14.

Aniplex of America streamed the first two parts of the anime on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and the Aniplex Channel in Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub. The company is releasing the first part of the sequel anime, Durarara!!×2 Shō, on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in two releases. The first release shipped on September 29 (with episodes 1-6) and the second release shipped on November 24 (with episodes 7-12 and the bonus 4.5 episode). Funimation will stream the series as it airs in Japan.
